In another example of how mentally unstable she is on Friday, The View co-host Sunny Hostin flipped out because construction workers didn’t catcall, but rather chanted “Trump 2024! Trump 2024!” at her and fellow co-host Ana Navarro. She also used that as evidence to suggest upwards of 80 percent of Republicans would take up arms and overthrow the government if former President Trump gets indicted.
The comments came in response to Trump’s appearance on The Hugh Hewitt Show where he alluded to something bad happening if he got indicted. But co-host Joy Behar, acting as the moderator, didn’t buy into the idea that Republicans would get violent in mass.
“Do you think people who voted Republican or vote for him because they want their taxes reduced or because they want this infernal wall to be built are going to be active in the streets with guns? I don't think so,” she scoffed.
This nonchalant attitude triggered Hostin. “60-70 percent of Republicans consider Trump the head of the party,” she exclaimed as if acknowledging Trump’s influence on the party meant Republicans would start a civil war for him. “They consider him that, but do you think that they're actually going to cause havoc, these people,” Behar asked perplexed.
“Republican” Navarro agreed with Behar that Republicans wouldn’t act that way, thus Hostin reminded her of the terrifying experience they shared. But Behar didn’t care:
HOSTIN: Ana, you and I were walking just a few weeks ago in front of our building and we had a group of construction workers yelling “Trump 2024! Trump 2024!”
BEHAR: Oh, that happened to me the other day. That happens all the time.
Clearly proud of herself, Hostin bragged that she “told them they needed to watch the January 6 Committee hearings.” Still unimpressed, Behar quipped: “You know, those guys used to whistle at me. Now they yell out ‘Go Brandon.’”
Essentially citing Trump’s approval numbers while in office, “conservative Alyssa Farah Griffin argued that “not even 30 percent of the GOP” are “the diehard will be with him” if he were to “shoot someone on 5th Avenue.”
This also triggered Hostin, who shouted: “What poll says 30 percent -- it was, like, 70 to 80!”
Our astute NewsBusters readers would notice that Hostin had upped her spread from 60-70 to 70-80. She even had the nerve to chide what Farah Griffin was saying by huffing, “we can't let misinformation be out there.”
Farah Griffin actually pushed back on Hostin’s smears of Republicans by noting that they’re voting on their wellbeing:
You’re not paying attention to every crazy thing the former President said and voting on your pocketbook, you’re voting on the economy, you’re voting on your 401k.
Look, I’ll use my mom as an example – she’s actually a very informed voter. She couldn't rattle off every crazy thing he said. She’s going to vote with what’s best for her.
“But I just want to be careful to not lump the people who stormed the Capitol in with the broad swath of this country that just is – they don't buy that,” she added. “That's what my point is. I really don't think the numbers are,” Behar agreed.

BEHAR (to Navarro): They saw that. That's my point. But that's my point. They've seen what happens when you are -- when you are in the middle of riot and you're causing violence.
HOSTIN: Do you think that really matters to these people?
BEHAR: And they never got their wall. He's out of office. What do they care really about him anymore?

So, you need people to get out and keep educating public. That is why the January 6 hearings have been so powerful. Getting 20 million people to tune into a congressional hearing is unheard of.

BEHAR: And those are the ones who are not going to – That's what my point is. I really don't think the numbers are

NAVARRO: I think they're less and less there every day because I think there are some Republicans that have realized that there's other Republicans out there that may not be criminals. They may be other things, but, you know, they don't have the legal and criminal baggage that Trump seems to bring with him.
