As if we Red Sox partisans needed any more proof that the New York Yankees boast one of the most classless fan bases in baseball, look no further than their 5-4 victory over the Cleveland Indians ... er, Guardians on Saturday.
Gleyber Torres pinch hit in the bottom of the ninth, driving a single to center field and bringing home Isaiah Kiner-Falefa and capping off the comeback for the home side.
But things took a trashy turn when fans in the right field stands started pelting Guardians Oscar Mercado with beer cans and other refuse, prompting members of both teams and ballpark security to intervene.

Earlier that inning, Guardians rookie left fielder Steven Kwan ran hard into the wall chasing after a line drive, and according to Mercado, fans were taunting Kwan, who was lying on the ground injured.
"You can root for your team all you want, I'm not denying that,” Mercado said. “Honestly, it's good for the game when there are die-hard fans, but do it the right way."
"That can't happen. I love the fans, love the atmosphere, but we win with class," Kiner-Falefa added.
Not a great look for one of the most iconic franchises in all of sports.
