In probably the funniest thing you’ll see all day, Fox News’s Greg Gutfeld took an opportunity to get in a shot at former Fox host turned CNN+ failure, Chris Wallace, during every segment of Thursday evening’s The Five. Just like the rest of us, Gutfeld finds the inevitable failure of CNN+ to be absolutely hilarious and he had to get in his digs in the only way he could. For a streaming service that made less money than a Kickstarter campaign for potato salad, the mockery is richly deserved.
During the A-block, when it was Gutfeld’s turn to speak about the paltry crop of potential Democrat presidential candidates, Gutfeld said “Hillary [Clinton] was supposed to come back. You got Bernie [Sanders], you got Mitt [Romney]. The Democratic bench is thinner than Chris Wallace’s demo reel from CNN+”
In the next segment, which was on the topic of rising crime in American cities and Black Lives Matter’s influence in causing it, Gutfeld observed: “BLM has done to black people, what Chris Wallace has done to CNN+. Entice them with a promise, and then ditch them on the side of the road.”
“I’m going to do this every segment, so just get used to it,” Gutfeld warned viewers.
When Gutfeld was asked to give his take on former President Obama’s pathetic speech on “disinformation”, the Fox co-host again took a shot at Wallace: “well to quote Chris Wallace. I don’t think the credibility of this initiative is sustainable.”
Moments later, he mocked the failed CNN+ host again “so look for independent voices with free time. I guess that eliminates Chris Wallace.” That line was met with a gasp by fellow co-host Judge Jeanine Pirro.
In the D-Block when Pirro asked Gutfeld what he thought about climate change, Gutfeld responded that he thinks it’s a “challenge that we will be facing” but argued a lot of the left’s solutions are unreliable. “I mean look at CNN+, how much money they invested in wind power by hiring Chris Wallace,” he quipped.
When discussing the controversy surrounding boxer Mike Tyson fighting with another passenger aboard a commercial flight, Pirro reminisced how one time when she was on a flight, a drunk man sitting next to her vomited all over her. In response, Gutfeld excitedly asked if the man was Chris Wallace.
In the last segment called “One More Thing”, Gutfeld shared a video of a wild buffalo wandering on the sidewalk of a suburban street corner. Narrating the video, Gutfeld announced “I just looked out at Sixth Avenue and who did I see just hanging out in front of a tavern? None other than guess... Chris Wallace!”
However, Gutfeld seemed hopeful for Wallace adding: “they just shut down CNN+. There he is! He’s a little downtrodden. But who knows, he’ll probably head over to CNN proper. They’ll probably find a spot for him.”
Well deserved mocking! Has anyone made a worse career choice than Chris Wallace? Going from Fox News to CNN+? Lesson learned.

DANA PERINO: [laughs] It’s pretty thin.
GUTFELD: Thanks. I just needed to get that in there.

GUTFELD: Well to quote Chris Wallace. I don’t think the credibility of this initiative is sustainable. And I’ll tell you why. Barack Obama is not a credible judge of misinformation and neither am I. Because you kind of know our biases.

GUTFELD: You have to look at the people as the Judge said are free speech absolutists. They’re generally comedians and writers, right? They’re never politicians because the politicians always end up defending their side. So look for independent voices with free time. I guess that eliminates Chris Wallace.

JEANINE PIRRO: So I imagine, Greg that you agree that climate change is not the existential threat that they say it is.
GUTFELD: I think it is a challenge that we will be facing, but a lot of these solutions that are coming from the left are unreliable. Whether it’s solar panels or windmills. I mean look at CNN+, how much money they invested in wind power by hiring Chris Wallace.

PIRRO: I was sitting next to a guy who was drunk on a plane and he vomited all over me.
GUTFELD: Was it Chris Wallace?
PIRRO: I don’t know but he vomited in my purse. That really ticked me off!
GUTFELD: You know I didn’t have—I had nothing to come up with and that just fit perfectly. I’m done now, I think.

GUTFELD: I haven’t done a celebrity sighting in a while, but as we know CNN+ closed down. So you see a lot of their talent out on the street. For example, I just looked out at Sixth Avenue and who did I see just hanging out in front of tavern? None other than guess... Chris Wallace! Just wandering around crossing over the police tape. They just shut down CNN+. There he is! He’s a little downtrodden. But who knows, he’ll probably head over to CNN proper. They’ll probably find a spot for him.
PERINO: It’s kind of cold out there.
GUTFELD: It is really cold. It’s snowing out here in New York.
