If you want proof that the leftist media has contempt for the United States and western civilization, continue reading. Meet the Press host Chuck Todd actually suggested on Sunday that “our democracy is not so good” because the United States has been unable to assemble a coalition of nations to enact a diplomatic boycott of China.
“I can't help but wonder our inability to get the world to follow us on a diplomatic boycott of China on something that's fundamental about sort of what we believe should be freedom bigger than financial ties. It makes me think, well maybe the example of our democracy is not so good,” Chuck Todd outrageously said during a panel discussion.
Putting aside the fact that the United States isn’t a democracy but instead a constitutional republic, these comments from Todd are anti-American.
Todd continued saying that because America has been unable to successfully lead other countries to boycott China other “people are thinking, why are we following you guys? I mean it’s hard not to see that.”
It’s obvious Todd has trouble seeing that our “democracy” isn’t in trouble or to coin a phrase from CNN “in peril.”
Former Obama Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson, who followed Todd’s line of thinking, fed into Todd’s lunacy by bringing up the January 6 riots at the Capitol as additional proof that the United States is losing its influence abroad. Claiming: “The first thing that I thought of after January 6, following up on what Elaine said. We used to say peaceful transfer of power. Peaceful transfer.”
Todd agreed, saying, “it made us different.” Johnson ended by agreeing, “it made us different. We can no longer say that.”
