The left-wing media’s sad record of elevating President Joe Biden’s “Build Back Better” farce has crashed and burned so hard with Americans that even left-wing polls can’t hide it.
Navigator Research, which bills itself as a “resource for progressives,” reportedly released a new poll that showed that most voters don’t believe Biden and Congress are focused on jobs and the economy, according to The Cook Political Report Publisher & Editor-in-Chief Amy Walter. Specifically, according to the graphic Walter tweeted, only 38 percent of Americans believe Biden and Congress have made the economy and jobs a priority. What’s even more damning is that the graphic showed that jobs and the economy was the top issue for 60 percent of Americans surveyed.

ABC News Nightline co-anchor Terry Moran tweeted a one-liner that emphasized what the progressive poll meant: “[A] devastating verdict on Biden’s presidential leadership[.]”

The poll results follow months of pro-Biden propaganda being shoved down voters’ throats. Consider this Newsweek headline from Sept. 16: “Biden's Build Back Better Plan Will 'Ease' Inflation, 15 Nobel Prize Economists Say.” The faux-free market Forbes magazine ran a pro-Biden spin piece in August headlined, “Biden Pushes ‘Build Back Better’ Plan To Help Small Businesses.” A nutty op-ed by New York Times economist Paul Krugman from July 2021 was headlined, “It’s Morning in Joe Biden’s America.” Americans aren’t taking the media spin bait.
Twitter personalities scrambled to make sense of the poll. Associated Press U.S. West political reporter Nicholas Riccardi had the red-pilled take: “To all the people talking about how various BBB provisions poll well -- that matters less if voters don't see it as related to their present worries.” He continued in a second tweet: “Giving out free ponies polls well but if you give out free ponies when no one has a job you will probably still suffer electorally.”

CNN White House Correspondent John Harwood tried to spin the news: “or, ‘not focused on economy’ just means they haven't gotten the price of gas and other stuff down.”

Deadspin writer Jesse Spector tried to accuse Walter of “bonkers framing.”
So, people see the administration’s top two priorities as aligned with the public’s top two priorities.

Also, the pandemic is inextricably linked to jobs/economy.
This is bonkers framing. https://t.co/seFIzUnIkG
But the Navigator poll isn’t the only survey that shows support for Biden’s handling of the economy eroding. An Axios/Ipsos poll of U.S. adults found that “[c]onfidence in President Biden's ability to rescue the economy from COVID-19 has dropped since January.” Confidence has dropped from 52 percent at the beginning of the Biden presidency down to 44 percent now.
NBC News policy editor Benjy Sarlin summarized how bad Biden is polling:
In general, I don't think people are quite absorbing how bad Biden's numbers are at the moment. State polls keep looking even worse than national. Most presidents struggle in their first 2 years, lots of ways he can claw back, but it's just objectively reaaaaaal bad now.”
