Far-left hack host Seth Meyers on Monday night finally, belatedly discovered that Governor Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) is a nasty “bully.” It took the Late Night star a year to learn this. Back in May of 2020, he joked around with the Democrat about brother and CNN host Chris Cuomo and the joys of Power Point displays. During the interview, the NBC host NEVER mentioned the nursing home scandal.
But on Monday, Meyers mocked the governor: “Ugh. no politician should ever be called the ‘luv gov.’” Gleefully twisting the knife into the former liberal hero, Meyers continued, “Now all that acclaim has vaporized nearly overnight as the real Andrew Cuomo has caught up to the character Andrew Cuomo was playing on TV. Or as the New Republic put it, ‘Fans of Andrew Cuomo the television character are being introduced to Andrew Cuomo the newspaper character.’”
Meyers even mentioned Cuomo’s nursing home debacle, attacking the Democrat as a phony:
Cuomo's TV audience is now learning about the real Andrew Cuomo as he faces accusations of bullying and abuse of power, creating a toxic workplace environment, a COVID cover-up, and allegations of sexual harassment from at least six women…. In addition to the sexual harassment allegations, Cuomo is also dealing with the fallout from his administration's alleged cover-up of coronavirus deaths in nursing homes.
So we can assume that Meyers, who fancies himself a brave truth teller, really hammered Cuomo on May 14, 2020 when he interviewed him? Nope. Instead, the two joked around about Andrew Cuomo’s brother Chris, the CNN host, as well as Power Point displays. Here are two of the questions:
I know you've been asked about this a lot, on sort of a lighter tone here, your brother and you have become stars of the moment we're living through. I am an older brother as well. And I just want to ask, is the interaction that we see between you and Chris on CNN, is that a true reflection of your relationship or are you guys playing it up a little bit in regard to the busting of the chops for the cameras?

A lot of people like the matter-of-fact way that you have been giving your daily press conferences. One part that people seem to appreciate is the Power Point slide. I can tell you personally, I'm a big fan of the slide that it tells us what day it is. I find it informative, and I like that it cannot be questioned. Are you surprised, having a long career in politics that people have finally come around to appreciating the value of Power Point?
NO MENTION of the nursing home scandal. (It became public knowledge in April of 2020.)
So when media types like Meyers pretend they’re bold for standing up to Cuomo a year late, know that it’s all a charade. On Monday, the NBC host’s other big concern was the Democrat being… too conservative?
For one thing, Cuomo has long been a nemesis of progressives in the state, often siding with Republicans and even helping them maintain control of the state Senate for years. He threatened to destroy Democratic member of the state assembly, Ron Kim, for criticizing his handling of nursing homes. And last year at the same time that he was wining plaudits for his Covid briefings, he was also proposing massive cuts to Medicaid, which included $400 million in cuts to hospitals. In the middle of a pandemic.
Hack HBO host John Oliver is guilty of the same thing: He realized in March of 2021 just how awful Cuomo is. Before you know it, Meyers, Oliver and other media types will be telling you Cuomo is a Republican.

And as a result, he turned himself into a TV star he won an Emmy, wrote a bestselling book, stirred speculation that he might run for president or become Joe Biden's attorney general, and earned a nickname that was super cringey at the time, and in retrospect, so much worse.

Cuomo and his administration are facing investigations from the FBI and U.S. attorney, and an impeachment inquiry from the state legislature after the state attorney general found that his administration had severely undercounted covid deaths in nursing homes.

They just rewrote the report. they covered it up, they lied, and if they lied about the covid death toll in nursing homes, you have to ask yourself, what else are they lying about? Wait a second. Today isn't Saturday it's Thursday. And look, again, I get why to anyone who watched Cuomo on TV during the pandemic, this might all be a little bit shocking but to people who have chronicled his career in New York, it's anything but.
