While Morning Joe skips over the Hunter Biden scandal, there are tapes they will obsess over: Bob Woodward has released tapes with Trump adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner.
Joe Scarbough was madly riffing off a recording from April in which Kushner told Woodward that the president was "getting the country back from the doctors." And, similar to others including Nancy Pelosi, Andrew Cuomo, and Bill De Blasio, Kushner back then expressed what turned out to be unfounded optimism about the virus, although he did warn, "that doesn't mean there's not still a lot of pain and there won't be pain for a while."
As could be expected, Scarborough took this old tape and unloaded journalistic malice and malpractice. Discussing Kusher's performance on a task force on PPE procurement, Scarborough clucked that "Jared was put in charge of a task force for the greatest national security threat—as Donald Trump’s own national security adviser said—the greatest national security threat America would ever face. Kushner, of course, ill-equipped to handle this or any other task he’s been given at the White House."
Scarborough prefaced his slam by saying that, along with Kushner, Trump "never accomplished anything in their lives other than inheriting money from their fathers."
Yeah, Trump's never accomplished nuthin' . . . other than that minor footnote of managing to make himself the most powerful person in the world.
How could Scarborough possibly have discussed Kushner's White House performance without mentioning--not a word!--of his groundbreaking success in engineering the most important Middle East peace progress in more than 40 years? In recent weeks, three Muslim countries have established ties with Israel.
If Kushner had been part of a Democrat administration, Scarborough and the rest of the liberal media would have been beating the drums for a joint Nobel Peace Prize for Kushner and the president lucky enough to have hired him! But then, Jared's part of Team Trump, and we know the Nobel gang handed Obama a Peace Prize before he had accomplished anything worth an award.
Scarborough's scurrilous slam at Jared Kushner was sponsored in part by Liberty Mutual.
Here's the transcript.

6:09 am EDTJOE SCARBOROUGH: These tapes keep coming out. I know it’s not a surprise that Jared Kushner was so wrong here. I mean, after all, you have two men who are running the country who really accomplished nothing in their lives other than inheriting money from their fathers.
And Jared was put in charge of a task force for the greatest national security threat—as Donald Trump’s own national security adviser said—the greatest national security threat America would ever face.
Kushner, of course, ill-equipped to handle this or any other task he’s been given at the White House.
