Democrats are so filled with hatred for President Donald Trump and so desperate to regain the White House that they and their media lackeys actually look to NBA coaches for political advice now. Last year there was a failed movement to draft a 2020 presidential ticket of Trump-hating coaches Steve Kerr of the Golden State Warriors and Greg Popovich of the San Antonio Spurs. On July 18, the Huffington Post reported on Kerr bashing Trump and giving the Democrats political advice on how to win back the presidency.
In Ed Mazza's Huffington Post story, Kerr (seen in file photo) "called out the Republican Party ... saying the GOP had 'sold its soul' to President Donald Trump. The eight-time NBA champion also offered some advice for the eventual 2020 Democratic presidential nominee":
Kerr is a frequent critic of Trump's. Last year there was a brief movement — Popovich Kerr 2020 — to draft Popovich (another Trump hater) and Kerr as a presidential ticket for 2020. Both coaches declined the effort, but neither has been shy about blasting Trump and pushing progressive policies. Sports media have given them plenty of coverage whenever they speak out on politics.
Mazza wrote that Coach Kerr also urged congressmen to slam Trump for his racist tweets urging four women of color serving in Congress to “go back” to their countries:
Additionally, Mazza was impressed with Kerr because in 2017 the coach "stood up for athletes who protested during the national anthem after Trump said team owners should fire the “'sons of bitches'”:
“Just think about what those players are protesting,” he wrote in Sports Illustrated. “They’re protesting excessive police violence and racial inequality. Those are really good things to fight against. And they’re doing it in a non-violent way.”
Previously Kerr has lapped up adoring left-stream media support for opposing the Second Amendment and for his approval of ex-NFL anthem protester Colin Kaepernick.
