This isn't the first time that the Morning Joe hosts have leveled attacks on Giuliani: in fact, it's just the continuance of an effort started long ago to strip the man of any humanity.
As Brzezinski again maligned the mayor as "pathetic," it echoed claims she leveled against him in June, where both hosts and guests blasted him as a "misogynistic fool" and "dangerous, pathetic, piggish clown" all within forty-eight hours.
Here is a transcript of the July 31 exchange:
MSNBC’s Morning Joe
07/31/18
6:04 a.m. EasternMIKA BRZEZINSKI: And we'll get to our top story, which is that President Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani is not ruling out the possibility of a second meeting in 2016 about Russians peddling dirt to the Trump campaign. Honestly, his family should step in.
JOE SCARBOROUGH: Throw Grandpa from the train, alright he needs to go home.
WILLIE GEIST: That was a good movie by the way.
MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Family needs to step in.
JOE SCARBOROUGH: Great movie.
MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Someone needs to step in, or you know what actually just let it ride.
JOE SCARBOROUGH: Remember when Ferris Bueller, "Save Ferris"? I think people need in Washington to start in the Potomac "Save Rudy" somebody close to Rudy needs to just take him home.
MIKA BRZEZINSKI: If you're interviewing Rudy you really need to be embarrassed if you don't have a follow up that makes sense. I've watched a couple of the interviews and it's been painful. I'm sorry, it's pathetic. At some point, you need to get your self-respect back.
JOE SCARBOROUGH: I thought one of the follow-up questions was actually good. Do you like purple?
MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Really?
JOE SCARBOROUGH: That's all they had, do you like purple?
MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Oh, I love the laughing nervously wondering how exactly they can let him get away with it because it's so obviously painful.
