Michael Moore has returned to inspire hope to the masses in this dark age known as the Trump administration. The shining hero appeared on Colbert to talk about his new anti-Trump movie, and to encourage Democrats that they have the numbers to take this nation back.
On Thursday night, the freedom fighter (conspiracy peddler) sat down for an interview with Colbert. Because he’s a living saint and champion of the victimized (he sure plays one himself, rather well) he showed the The Late Show audience footage of his new move Fahrenheit 11/9.
As Moore explained, 11/9 was “the night he [Trump] was announced as President of the United States.” Colbert asked Moore what exactly his movie was trying to show or prove, to which Moore replied, “How the hell we got in this situation, and how we’re going to get out of it.”
Moore then proceeded to show a short clip of the movie, in which the director was filmed driving up to Mar-a-Lago and asking for entry. Moore explained that he was in Trump’s resort for “11 and a half minutes,” upon which Colbert asked him if he behaved civilly to the staff.
He proudly replied, “I am as civil as any eagle scout, Catholic altar boy could be, when confronted with the devil.”
This prompted a question regarding the trending question of civil discussion in today’s politics. Moore claimed that the left is “constantly giving in,” and that now, some people are starting to say, “No, I’ve had enough. That’s it.”
“We don’t have to be violent,” he stated. “If the worst that’s going to happen to anybody in the Trump administration is that they don’t get to have a chicken dinner, in Virginia, I mean, I don’t know.”
Clearly running Sarah Sanders out of Red Hen hasn’t been anything that the left has had to sweat, with all their screaming about children getting thrown in cages. According to Moore, the fact that this has been going on means this fight is much more about combatting Trump tyranny than debating opposing viewpoints.
“We’re not talking about political differences. We’re talking about thousands of children, being kidnapped from their parents and put in jails.” He then brought up a knee-jerk inducing headline about toddlers having to be put through immigration courts unattended. Outraged, Moore exclaimed, “This is insanity! This is not who we are, is it?!” The social justice audience answered back with a resounding “No!”
Moore then continued by saying that he still hasn’t given up hope that things can get better, but did mention that, given today’s political climate, it’s hard. He asked Colbert, “When you read the paper everyday, or watch the news, do you ever cry? Do you ever tear up?” Colbert replied, “Of course.” Moore explained he has suffered bouts of crying every day, that it “has become the norm now.”
Considering how resilient Trump is, Moore said that now is the time for “everybody to put their bodies on the line. You’re going to have to be willing to do this.” He then explained that a majority Christian nation should be able to stand up to a man that puts kids in cages. Kids that he sees as “my children.”
Moore then concluded the interview with his vision of hope. “The majority of our fellow Americans are liberal, and we, the Democrats, have won the presidency, the popular vote in six of the last seven presidential elections.” He added, “The Republicans have only won once, since 1988, in 2004 with Bush. That’s the only time they’ve won the popular vote!”
He then concluded with this revelation, “The country we live in doesn’t want the Republicans in the White House!” Colbert stated, “Electoral college,” upon which Moore announced, “Get rid of it!”
Tear-stained liberals want to abolish American institutions so they can have what they want. Clearly, that’s how desperate they’ve become, to the point where sanity ceases to exist.
