Following the overreactions on July 26 to President Trump’s twitter announcement, host of The Late Late Show James Corden decided to express his anger in a more musical fashion.
Sung to the tune of the 1964 classic “L-O-V-E” by Nat King Cole, Corden made several swipes at Trump. “POTUS thinks it’s unsavory/Patriots who know real bravery/Trump’s got hate for me and you,” he crooned.
The next lyrics hit a wrong note when they criticized (inaccurately) the decision by stating “Transgender troops are not a huge expense.” Actually the expense is $69 million for one year alone. Corden went on, “This ban only saves that budget .04 percent.” According to NBC, the budget will save .01%.
Corden then asked his audience this question, “How is this disruption/Worse than Trump’s corruption?” While the dancers waved white feathery fans around, which could be interpreted as a sign of cowardice (traditionally the white feather is a symbol of cowardice), Corden made another comparison.
“Trump wants to seem like a manly man/Overcompensating for his tiny … hands,” he sang, while the white feather fans fluttered over his pants. Of course, he ended the song with the politically correct, “We have love for all of you.”
