It’s no secret that writer and show creator Shonda Rhimes, who is responsible for hits such as Scandal, Grey’s Anatomy, How to Get Away with Murder (by becoming an abortionist?) and The Catch, is a strong pro-abortion advocate. Not only does she make zero effort to hide her view on the controversial topic or try to appear bias-free, she now has gone so far as to join the board of abortion-giant Planned Parenthood.
Given the fact that Rhimes featured two different abortion scenes on Scandal, it wouldn’t be much of a stretch to expect similar treatment with her other current shows, including The Catch. Especially considering how promiscuous the characters on The Catch are.
Thursday’s episode, “The Hard Drive,” featured one line in particular that had Rhimes’ pro-abortion signature written all over it. As main characters Ben (Peter Krause) and Margot (Sonya Walger) discuss the child that she never told him about and gave up for adoption without his knowledge years ago, Ben argues that Margot should have informed him that he had a child.
Margot: So, I assume you have a laundry list of questions. Obviously, I lied to you 15 years ago. There was no Barcelona assignment.
Ben: I figured out the when and the how... But just not the why. I mean, if you knew she was mine...
Margot: Of course she was yours.
Ben: Then why not tell me?
Margot: Because I knew you'd want to do the right thing -- settle down and be a "Family."
Ben: And would that have been so bad?
Margot: Yes. I liked our life, yours and mine.
Ben: Well, I did, too, but
Margot: A baby would have changed everything.
Ben: We should have made that decision together.
Margot: A decision about my body?
Ben: I'm just saying, if we had... Maybe things would have turned out differently.
In one breath, Margot refers to her child as “a baby.” The next, she claims they’re discussing her body. I’m confused. What happened to the baby?
Her body had nothing to do with it. She didn’t even have an abortion, not that that justifies using the “my body” excuse either, since it’s the baby’s body that is mutilated and killed, otherwise the mother would die in every abortion as well as the baby.
There is a 15-year-old child walking around now that he never knew about. Informing him that his child exists has absolutely nothing to do with her body (although a similar argument was made on HBO's Girls). But, leave it to Rhimes, who is so blinded by abortion rhetoric that she just randomly throws it out even when it doesn’t make sense.
I suppose one must throw all sense and reason out the window to be able to justify abortion and join the board of Planned Parenthood in the first place, though. I won’t be surprised if this is just a hint of more abortion propaganda to come.
Rhimes is obviously on a mission to advocate for the barbaric procedure, and all the euphemisms tied to it. She’s so far gone that she’ll use any scene on any of her shows to push that agenda onto viewers, whether it makes sense or not.
