In Friday's episode titled “Explorers” of ABC’s Last Man Standing, the men at Outdoor Man decide to use the preparation for their annual colonoscopies as a bonding experience – they were drinking the liquid prep together as they enjoyed a game of poker during the store’s after hours. Naturally, this led to some inevitable bathroom humor.
Mike Baxter’s (Tim Allen) liberal friend Chuck (Jonathan Adams) even took a swipe at North Carolina’s “bathroom bill” – House Bill 2 (HB2), the Public Facilities Privacy and Security Act. In case you have been living in a cave, this bill reversed a Charlotte, N.C. ordinance allowing gay and transgender people to use the bathroom based on their gender identity.
As the guys were sitting down to begin their card game, Chuck stated, “Anyone can use any bathroom – this is not North Carolina.”
Jay: Great thing about this poker game is I don't have to bring beer or chips or anything. I mean, not that I would anyway, but this time, it's not rude.
Chuck: Tonight, anyone can use any bathroom. This is not North Carolina. Anything to add, Baxter?
Mike: Yeah, and this is coming from experience. [ Clears throat ] Don't cough.
LGBT grievances pop up in today’s television – even a conservative-leaning, popular sitcom like this one. Networks are determined to push this agenda whether it is randomly gratuitous or not.
