In an interview in Elle magazine, actress Keira Knightley ("Pirates of the Caribbean", "Atonement"), lets loose on her frustrations with biased media. (h/t Matthew Felling)
While I'm not sure how her politics skews -- she may be a leftie who thinks the media are too conservatively biased -- the British actress is spot on about the problem of subjective reporting:
“What really sets me off?” Knightley asks. She’s leaning forward on the edge of a couch in a stance that suggests a boxer waiting for the bell. “Anything. I mean, really anything. I’m a moody bastard. Actually, I’ve been banned from reading newspapers because the way they’re written angers me so much. If I want an opinion, then I’ll read the opinion part of the newspaper. I do not want it when I’m trying to get the facts. I get incredibly angry. It really f--ks me off. See, I have to calm down about it.”
For the sake of our readers, I'm willing to discuss this with Ms. Knightley further over lunch. I guess her people can call my people to make the arrangements.
