Jack Welch: Clinton’s ‘Climate Justice’ Plan is ‘Lawyer Protection’

Former General Electric CEO Jack Welch tore into Hillary Clinton’s policies on Squawk Box, arguing that her push for climate justice was de facto “lawyer protection.”

“Basically what it is, it just takes care of the lawyers,” Welch said on Sep. 20 of Clinton’s plan to promote “climate justice.”

During his appearance, Welch talked to Squawk Box hosts through a slideshow that outlined the reasons he planned to vote for Donald Trump in the presidential election.

Welch criticized the environmentalist left and lamented Democrats’ efforts to restrict fracking. He also slammed the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as “out of control” because of its excess regulation.

“I mean everywhere you turn, you’ve got someone coming down on you,” Welch said.

He specifically cited the clean water act, which he suggested was ridiculous to the point of allowing the EPA to regulate a “pool of water.”

“I mean a pool of water somewhere, you’ve got the Clean Water Act,” Welch said.

Welch decried the U.S.’s regulatory environment in general, saying regulations were “choking” the country. “It’s crazy,” Welch said after arguing that banks had more regulators than bankers.

He warned that a Hillary Clinton administration would bring “hyper regulators,” and asked how “any business person” could favor a Clinton’s appointees over Trump’s.
