How do you review a hotel before it even opens? It's simple if you are an over the top liberal moonbat columnist who has a political grudge against the owner to extent you are perfectly willing to toss all credibility away in order to make strictly ideological points.
In this case it is Washington Post columnist Petula Dvorak who panned Donald Trump's new Washington hotel opening today, the Trump International Hotel. Her column isn't so much as a review since it was written before the hotel even opened as it is one long hate screech against Trump:
A reservation at the new Trump International Hotel in the nation’s capital will carry lots of baggage this fall — and not just the kind you would need to haul around the $700 (at least) a night it is going to cost to stay at the swish, new place.
Emotionally and politically, the hotel that bears Donald Trump’s name and opened Monday inside the Old Post Office Pavilion is already sparking fireworks. And protests right in front of the place.
So what is the actual hotel like, Petula? Well, forget about getting an answer on that. She has an agenda to push starting with quoting a fellow moonbat about why she hates a hotel she has not even entered:
“Never. Nope. Not a chance,” said Becky Acton, who raised her middle finger at the place as she biked by Sunday night, on the eve of its soft opening. “I would never stay there. No matter what it costs.”
Dvorak later spends many column inches quoting a Nigerian immigrant who has also not entered the hotel but who is critical of Trump. Oh, and we also get this gem about a homeless woman:
Same for a homeless woman, who was going from bench to bench Sunday, looking for a place to bed down for the night. She would not consider staying there, either.
So what is missing here? Anything resembling an actual review of the hotel. All we got was Dvorak overdosing on her own hate Trump bile.
This is nothing new for Dvorak. A few years ago she went on a rant against restaurants whom she perceived as having politically incorrect views:
But over at Papa John’s Pizza, CEO and founder John Schnatter, a Mitt Romney fundraiser, declared last week that the company would raise the price of its pies if health-care reform stands.
Somehow, it is funny that a place where a single slice of “The Meats” pizza can run you 400 calories, 19 grams of fat and 1,100 milligrams of sodium decides to weigh in on the health-care debate.
Sort of like the Medellin drug cartel taking a stand on border patrol.
Exit question: Is the best way to get Petula Dvorak to visit the Trump International Hotel to place a fan by a Papa John's pizza to send the fumes out the Trump window into the street toward Dvorak's nostrils so she can smell the food she secretly craves?
