Some of the mocking press coverage of Donald Trump is so over the top that it is a surprise that there has been so little criticism of the absurd antics of such media outlets as the New York Daily News and the Huffington Post. Fortunately there is one bright light to counter this absurdity in the form of Jake Tapper of CNN. Tapper expressed his criticism in an interview published yesterday in The Wrap.
CNN’s Jake Tapper is not impressed with Huffington Post and New York Daily News headlines mocking Donald Trump.
“I think those are business decisions that they are making, not journalistic decisions. They think that will appeal to readers and allow them to carve out a niche to get clicks or have newspapers purchased,” said the host of “The Lead with Jake Tapper,” in an interview with TheWrap.
“But, I think journalistically, to not take Donald Trump seriously is a mistake. And I think journalistically to attack people who support a candidate is the very height of elitism,” added Tapper. “These are Americans exercising their right to vote and it’s important to go out and meet them and talk to them and find out why they’re supporting the candidates they’re supporting. It’s not my approach to journalism. My approach to journalism is to cover what’s going on and try to understand it and understand the voters and the candidates, not to mock them.”
If you are not already familiar with the open antagonism displayed by such media sites as the New York Daily News or the Huffington Post, here are a couple of examples starting with the Daily News which was so anxious to display their Trump derangement that they couldn't even wait a few hours to publish it on Wednesday morning so they sent out a sneak peak Tweet of their mocking front page the night before.

As for the Huffington Post, their Trump derangement appears to have fallen into the realm of the sanity challenged starting with this headline on Tuesday: A Racist, Sexist Demagogue Just Won The New Hampshire Primary.
Sandwiching their story on the bottom end is this editor's note in case any readers out there still haven't figured out the sad extent of their Trump derangement.
Editor's note: Donald Trump is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist, birther and bully who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims -- 1.6 billion members of an entire religion -- from entering the U.S.
Gee, Huffington Post, I'm surprised you didn't also call Trump an orange stinky-poo.
