MSNBC All In with Chris Hayes’s host is all in ... for climate alarmism.
As Washington D.C. and Baltimore raced to prepare for a potentially “historic” blizzard set to lash the East Coast Hayes insisted effects of the storm were connected to “climate change.”
“That very storm which is hitting the east coast this weekend is going to threaten a huge storm surge, part of which is due to a higher sea level, due to climate change," Hayes said on his show Jan. 20.
Hayes made those comments after announcing the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) news that 2015 was the hottest year on record.
"Scientists announced today that 2015 is the earth's hottest year on record since they've been keeping track about a 160 years ago. Now, some might say it's sort of ironic to be reporting this news the same day that much of the east coast is bracing for a major storm,” Hayes said.
Of course Hayes didn’t mention any critics of the claim or that the satellite temperature records show 2015 as only the third warmest, behind 2010 and 1998. And that’s only since 1979.
The media fell for the same NOAA and NASA claims that 2014 was “hottest year,” even though careful examination of their own data proved it was hot air and “statistically meaningless.”
Climate change is an agenda item for Hayes. In 2015, he called global warming “the single most important thing we face.” And in 2014, he dubbed “climate justice” “The New Abolitionism.” Hayes has claimed “the political economy of slavery and the political economy of fossil fuel” were comparable.
