There’s no better way to celebrate Christmas than with sex, profanity and violence, right? Or so suggests one Netflix show about female prisoners.
In a new video released just in time for the holiday, the cast of Orange is the New Black created a special spoof of the classic poem “'Twas the Night Before Christmas.” Entitled “'Twas a Night in Litchfield,” the video includes references to the inmates having sex in the bunks, robbing and roughing up St. Nick and finding porn from Santa.
And the media, predictably, loved it.
Vanity Fair’s Katey Rich called the video “charming,” while Entertainment Weekly’s Will Robinson reported that the cast has “given us a treat to tide us over as we wait for season 4.”
In the past, the award-winning Netflix series has attracted much media acclaim with its often charged content. Last summer, character Big Boo advocated abortion as part of a mother’s role to do what is best for her children, even if that means “wiping ‘em out before they had to live miserable f*cking lives.” The media gushed over the show in response.
The show has also received media praise for its portrayal of LGBT characters, by placing transgender actress Laverne Cox and lesbian actress Lea DeLaria in the limelight.
