Following Monday’s 2020 RNC address from Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), ABC and CBS had praise for Scott’s “classic,” “compelling,”  “optimistic,” “personal,” and “positive” remarks, but they pivoted to smearing Scott by appearing to question his commitment to race relations. His crime? In the eyes of ABC and CBS, Scott didn’t talk about the Jacob Blake case, didn’t acknowledge the coronavirus…

It was day one of the Republican National Convention with the main events yet to kick-off, and the liberal broadcast networks were itching to tear into their opposition. ABC, CBS, and NBC had their knives out during their Monday evening newscasts and were taking stabs and swings at everything for the Trump supports outside to their “controversial” speaker list.

When it comes to Democrats, the leftist media insist that families are off limits in the political debate. While that’s certainly a laudable rule, it’s remarkable how quickly hypocritical reporters dump that principle when they see an opportunity to trash a Republican. On Monday, NBC’s Today show provided the latest example of this pathetic double standard.

CNN and MSNBC let their audiences see roughly 90 percent of the Democratic video show that stood in for this year’s national convention without any meaningful interruptions. ABC, CBS and NBC showed their viewers about 30 percent of the convention as produced by the party. Rachel Maddow had her own “thrill up the leg” moment while on the Tonight Show, Thursday. The MSNBC host praised the pair profusely boasting how Obama’s speech and Harris’s nomination, gave her “chills.” 

On Thursday night after the conclusion of the virtual 2020 Democratic National Convention, NBC made sure viewers knew they loved Joe Biden’s acceptance speech, calling it an “intimate,” “not partisan,” “optimistic,” and “upbeat” “fireside chat” that sound like it was given by “a preacher at the pulpit.”

While NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt refused to press Jill Biden on accusations she cheated on her first husband with then-Senator Joe Biden during his Thursday interview, he did awkwardly ask her whether or not she got nervous whenever her husband was addressing the public. He also pressed her when Joe planned to get out of his basement and visit the battleground states.

On Tuesday night's NBC convention coverage, Chuck Todd was back in front of the network's interactive map, touting how easily Joe Biden would trounce President Trump right now....but then NBC co-anchor Savannah Guthrie ruined the mood by noting this is exactly what Chuck and others said four years ago, about how Trump really didn't have a path to victory. 

As much as the broadcast networks would have liked to, they couldn’t spend all week talking about Barack and Michelle Obama during their coverage of the virtual 2020 DNC. That said, they were able to muster fawning praise Wednesday night for vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris’s “soaring speech,” ensuring Americans “saw [Harris and Joe Biden] as human beings.” 

On Wednesday night, the broadcast networks reminded viewers of their undying love and adoration for former President Barack Obama, hailing his 2020 DNC remarks as a “pretty amazing” speech about “democracy” and “hope” that warned the former is “at stake” in 2020. And if that wasn’t enough, ABC claimed it would be “eloquent” and “edge” before it even happened while CBS called it afterward “the…
