So let’s see how this game works. Matt Lauer — come on, you can remember Matt Lauer — was a news anchor of NBC’s Today show from 1994 - 1997 and co-anchor from 1997 to 2017. This last week he was fired by NBC News for “inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace.”

Well, this is awkward. Disgraced journalist Matt Lauer, who has been accused by multiple women of harassment and possible sexual assault, in 2014 blasted Democrat Kirsten Gillibrand for not “calling out” harassing colleagues in the Senate. Talking to the politician, the man who had a secret locking mechanism to trap young females in his office lectured, “And you didn't name names. Why?”

While the pressure mounted on Democratic harassers Representative John Conyers and Senator Al Franken to resign, more details broke on Thursday of the Congressional slush fund used to pay off such victims. With the Senate GOP on the verge of passing their version of tax reform on Thursday, NBC Nightly News continued their week-long series where they claimed to break down the tax bills. But in reality, they only sought to stoke fears of those who weren’t familiar with it and bemoaned how Democrats had no input.

According to NBC sources who talked to Vanity Fair on Monday, disgraced former Today show host Matt Lauer fought against the network’s recent decision to fire the morning show’s longtime booker Matt Zimmerman over sexual harassment allegations. Zimmerman’s firing came only week’s before Lauer himself was terminated by NBC following similar accusations.

During Wednesday’s S.E. Cupp Unfiltered, Cupp and her panel were visibly disgusted as they started the show by talking about the sexual misconduct allegations against former NBC's Today co-host Matt Lauer. After Cupp reviewed the disturbing allegations detailed in the Variety exclusive, the panel vigorously ripped into NBC for claiming they didn’t know about Lauer’s victims until Monday.…

Hours after NBC fired Today co-host Matt Lauer over allegations of sexual misconduct, Variety published their long-awaited story on Wednesday afternoon, detailing disturbingly lewd stories about Lauer. They ranged from exposing himself to lewd texts to having a button on his desk to lock his office door.

In retrospect, this is awkward. On Tuesday, Matt Lauer was fired from NBC for gross sexual misconduct. In June of 2012, his former co-host, Katie Couric, appeared on Bravo’s Watch What Happens. Host Andy Cohen wondered, “You co-hosted the Today show with Matt Lauer for 15 years. What is Matt’s most annoying habit?” 

Apparently, Matt Lauer doesn’t have any concept of self reflection. If he did, the man now accused of gross sexual misconduct and harassment might have pondered his own actions while slamming Donald Trump over the Access Hollywood tape. As news broke Wednesday morning of Matt Lauer being fired by NBC News over accusations of sexual harassment by a colleague, it brought to mind a September interview in which he grilled former Fox News anchor Bill O’Reilly about being fired for similar allegations.

Tuesday was a terrible day for Michigan Democratic Representative John Conyers as yet another former staffer came forward to accuse the longtime Congressman of sexual harassment and he was reportedly in talks with the Congressional Black Caucus to possibly resign. But according to the liberal Big Three Networks, none of that was really newsworthy.
