February 12th, 2016 1:07 PM
MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell and Chuck Todd were appalled by a new Ted Cruz commercial attacking Hillary Clinton, labeling it “vicious” and “rough.” The campaign spot parodied the 1999 cult classic Office Space, showing “Hillary Clinton” angrily destroying a computer hard drive. After playing a clip, a disgusted Chuck Todd condemned, “That was a little rough. That was a little uncomfortable to watch…

Morning Joe Crew Is Nicer to Porn Star Than ‘Troll’ Ted Cruz

February 12th, 2016 11:57 AM
The crew of Morning Joe on Friday were very sympathetic to a porn star actress who turned up in a Ted Cruz ad, arguing that her “honest work” in a commercial shouldn’t be taken away. Yet, the hosts and the guests of MSNBC show have been much tougher on Cruz himself, allowing a platform for Chris Matthews to call him a “troll.”

Scarborough: Hillary and Her 'Hack Spokesman' Attack Obama's Integrity

February 12th, 2016 8:27 AM
"If I hold you any closer, I'll be in back of you." That was Groucho's famous line in A Day at the Races. It's also Hillary's strategy in South Carolina, as she hugs President Obama as close as she can in an effort to appeal to African-Americans, who make up a majority of Dem primary voters there. Joe Scarborough threw a serious spanner into Hillary's strategy on today's Morning Joe. Scarborough…

February 11th, 2016 8:52 PM
Last October, after about six months of dawdling, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio finally came out with an endorsement of Hillary Clinton for president. Yet on tonight's Hardball, anchor Chris Matthews made it sound like the mayor probably wishes he had his old campaign-manager job back and was Hillary's "Mickey in the corner" at every debate.

February 11th, 2016 4:55 PM
Unlike the apparently civil Democrats, the Republican primary in South Carolina is a historically “nasty” affair “going back to Richard Nixon.” That’s according to MSNBC anchor Andrea Mitchell on Thursday. Talking to Washington Post reporter Chris Cillizza, she lectured, “South Carolina Republican primary is so different from the Democratic primary.”

MSNBC: Reporters May ‘Punish’ Rubio for Not ‘Owning Up’ to Flub

February 11th, 2016 12:55 PM
Offering a window into just how journalists view their power, on MSNBC on Thursday NBC News correspondent Gabe Gutierrez suggested that reporters may “punish” Marco Rubio for not admitting, quickly enough, to a bad debate performance: “But the question is will reporters punish him? Not just for that terrible debate performance on Saturday, but for the follow up, the next day, trying to own that…

Scarborough: Rubio's 'Dirty--Um--Dark Money' Drove Christie Down

February 11th, 2016 7:18 AM
On today's Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough forcefully sought to refute the notion that Chris Christie's takedown of Marco Rubio in the last GOP debate was an unprovoked attack. Scarborough painted a very different picture, one in which by dint of his town hall work, Christie had been steadily climbing in the New Hampshire polls--until Rubio unleashed a wave of negative advertising on Christie that…

Rachel Maddow: Limbaugh’s ‘Washed Up’ and Obama’s a ‘Centrist’

February 10th, 2016 9:35 PM
Playboy has jettisoned the nudity, but the Interview remains, and its subject in the new issue is MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, who discusses topics such as her fondness for the music of Thelonious Monk; the recipe for a cocktail called an Aviation; and (mostly) politics. Maddow declares that she’ll never run for office and says an imaginary Maddow presidency would consist of her “getting sworn in and…

Disgraced Brian Williams: Rubio’s Remarks to Go ‘Under a Microscope'

February 10th, 2016 3:56 PM
Does this man even listen to himself speak? Disgraced former NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams on Wednesday insisted that, given Marco Rubio’s habit of repeating talking points, all of the Senator’s comments will now be “under the microscope” and must be investigated. This coming from the journalist who lost his job after being exposed for serial falsehoods.

February 10th, 2016 10:55 AM

Hillary 'Lavished Praise on Wall Street--You Guys Pillar of Economy'

February 10th, 2016 9:30 AM
Yesterday, Politico reported that in a Wall Street speech, Hillary sounded more like "a Goldman Sachs managing director." Today, Bloomberg's Josh Green quoted a financial CEO who attended another Clinton speech as saying Hillary "lavished praise on Wall Street, said you guys are the pillar of our economy."  Ruh-roh: how will the increasingly left-wing Dem electorate react to that? GOP strategist…

Chuck Todd Lauds: ‘Grown-Up,’ ‘Adult’ Kasich Did Well Tonight

February 10th, 2016 1:14 AM
MSNBC’s Chuck Todd and Brian Williams on Tuesday hailed John Kasich’s second place finish in New Hampshire as evidence that the “grown-ups” and “adults” in the Republican Party had been victorious. Presumably citing Joe Scarborough, Brian Williams touted, “My friend Joe in New Jersey says he's always been the only grownup in the race.”

Maddow: GOP Could Turn Into ‘Xenophobic,’ ‘Nativist’ Movement of ‘Hard

On the same night Rachel Maddow dismissed the concept of the liberal media, the MSNBC host sneered that the Republican Party could turn into a “xenophobic” movement of the “hard-right.” Maddow flashed back to the 1996 presidential election and contrasted 2016: “Pitchfork populism and xenophobic nativism of a very, very hard-right cast and [Pat Buchanan] won in New Hampshire.”

Matthews: Bernie’s ‘Growing’ ‘Reach’ to Include ‘Center Right’ Dems

February 10th, 2016 12:02 AM
After having been up most of the day, the long day for MSNBC’s Chris Matthews dragged on into the 11:00 p.m. Eastern hour as the Hardball host argued that Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is “growing in political ability and reach” with his New Hampshire victory and could court “the Democratic center right now” as well as “center right” Democrats (as if there‘s any of them left).
