The crew of Morning Joe on Friday were very sympathetic to a porn star actress who turned up in a Ted Cruz ad, arguing that her “honest work” in a commercial shouldn’t be taken away. Yet, the hosts and the guests of MSNBC show have been much tougher on Cruz himself, allowing a platform for Chris Matthews to call him a “troll.”

Last October, after about six months of dawdling, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio finally came out with an endorsement of Hillary Clinton for president. Yet on tonight's Hardball, anchor Chris Matthews made it sound like the mayor probably wishes he had his old campaign-manager job back and was Hillary's "Mickey in the corner" at every debate.

Unlike the apparently civil Democrats, the Republican primary in South Carolina is a historically “nasty” affair “going back to Richard Nixon.” That’s according to MSNBC anchor Andrea Mitchell on Thursday. Does this man even listen to himself speak? Disgraced former NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams on Wednesday insisted that, given Marco Rubio’s habit of repeating talking points, all of the Senator’s comments will now be “under the microscope” and must be investigated. This coming from the journalist who lost his job after being exposed for serial falsehoods.     

In perhaps his most vile attack on Texas Senator Ted Cruz to date, MSNBC host Chris Matthews appeared on Wednesday’s Morning Joe and declared the Republican presidential candidate to not be human: “...there’s a troll-like quality to Cruz. He operates below the level of human life.”

Yesterday, Politico reported that in a Wall Street speech, Hillary sounded more like "a Goldman Sachs managing director." Today, Bloomberg's Josh Green quoted a financial CEO who attended another Clinton speech as saying Hillary "lavished praise on Wall Street, said you guys are the pillar of our economy."  Ruh-roh: how will the increasingly left-wing Dem electorate react to that? GOP strategist…

MSNBC’s Chuck Todd and Brian Williams on Tuesday hailed John Kasich’s second place finish in New Hampshire as evidence that the “grown-ups” and “adults” in the Republican Party had been victorious. Presumably citing Joe Scarborough, Brian Williams touted, “My friend Joe in New Jersey says he's always been the only grownup in the race.” 

On the same night Rachel Maddow dismissed the concept of the liberal media, the MSNBC host sneered that the Republican Party could turn into a “xenophobic” movement of the “hard-right.” Maddow flashed back to the 1996 presidential election and contrasted 2016: “Pitchfork populism and xenophobic nativism of a very, very hard-right cast and [Pat Buchanan] won in New Hampshire.” 

After having been up most of the day, the long day for MSNBC’s Chris Matthews dragged on into the 11:00 p.m. Eastern hour as the Hardball host argued that Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is “growing in political ability and reach” with his New Hampshire victory and could court “the Democratic center right now” as well as “center right” Democrats (as if there‘s any of them left).
