Scarborough Rips Ted Cruz as ‘Ignorant’ for Arguing Feinstein Gun
March 15th, 2013 5:51 PM
[UPDATE BELOW: Cruz's office responds.] MSNBC's Joe Scarborough unleashed a vitriolic tirade against the left-wing media’s new favorite punching bag, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), on Friday’s Morning Joe. Incensed at Cruz’s questioning of Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Scarborough attacked the freshman senator as “ignorant” five times.

MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski and NYT’s Frank Bruni Decry Catholic Church
March 15th, 2013 10:23 AM
Now that the new pope has been chosen, the life of the Catholic Church continues– and so does the liberal media’s effort to persuade the Church to change its traditions. On Thursday’s Morning Joe, co-host Mika Brzezinski complained, “Secrecy that surrounds the traditions of the Catholic Church -- it’s a recipe for disaster.... There is a lot of work ahead and some serious changes that need to…

Scarborough Mocks Bloomberg Soda Ban Behind His Back, Won’t Challeng
March 13th, 2013 12:02 PM
In what has become a common theme for the MSNBC conservative, Morning Joe co-host Joe Scarborough failed to live up to his self-titled conservative values on March 13. Following a ruling by a New York state court on March 11 invalidating New York City’s large soda ban, Scarborough and the rest of the Morning Joe crew sans Mika Brzezinski mocked Bloomberg’s failed efforts on March 12.
Despite…
Scarborough Ribs Shameless Schmoozer Ford, Jr.: Is There Anyone You Do
March 13th, 2013 9:45 AM
Five days ago, this NewsBuster wrote that Harold Ford, Jr. "seems more interested in cultivating friends and avoiding offense than in saying anything interesting." On Morning Joe that day, Ford had managed to praise a trio of pols, even breaking out the old "my dear friend" line to describe one of them. When Ford employed the same shtick on today's show, Joe Scarborough eventually had enough,…
'Fortune' Editor Boosts Nanny Bloomberg: 'Sometimes You Have To Take P
March 12th, 2013 9:45 AM
You'd think someone who works for "Fortune" magazine would have more have more respect for free people and free markets. But on Morning Joe, today, there was "Fortune" editor Leigh Gallagher boosting Michael Bloomberg's nanny state. Gallagher approvingly quoted Mayor Mike to the effect "sometimes you have to do not what people want you to do. You have to take people by the hand and lead them…
Harold Ford, Jr.'s Bold Admission: 'I Don't Socialize With Terrorists
March 8th, 2013 8:53 AM
Way to go out on a limb, Harold!. . . Of all the Morning Joe regulars, Harold Ford, Jr. is on my short list of those who bring the least to the table. Ford seems more interested in cultivating friends and avoiding offense than in saying anything interesting or—heaven forfend—controversial.
Ford took his penchant for finding something good to say about everyone to absurd new heights on today'…
On Morning Joe, An Intra-Squad Liberal Dogfight Over Drones
March 7th, 2013 10:42 AM
As Joe Scarborough said, "this is liberal on liberal on liberal violence. I love watching it." He was referring to the intra-squad liberal dogfight, spurred by Rand Paul's filibuster, that broke out on Morning Joe today over the use of drones by the U.S. government. H/t NB reader Ray R.
Though former car czar Steve Rattner played a supporting role, the two main combatants were Sam Stein of…
Mika: Where I Used To Work, Successful Women Were Sabotaged By Leaks
March 6th, 2013 8:58 AM
Whoah! What place was Mika Brzezinski talking about? On today's Morning Joe, Brzezinski said that at a place where she used to work, "any woman who did anything or got to the top immediately had something revealed to the press or online or whatever that would bring them down." And whatever happened to solidarity among the sisters? Mika added: I suggest that some might even argue that it's…
Scarborough Smacks Down Krugman For Pompously Behaving Like a Sighing
March 5th, 2013 11:31 AM
As NewsBusters reported earlier, New York Times columnist Paul Krugman and MSNBC's Joe Scarborough had quite a heated discussion about the budget, debt, and the economy on PBS's Charlie Rose Monday evening.
Near its conclusion, Scarborough actually scolded Krugman for pompously behaving like a sighing Al Gore (video follows with transcript and commentary):
Krugman: Quoting What I Said in the Past Is an Ad Hominem Attack
March 5th, 2013 10:25 AM
New York Times columnist Paul Krugman and MSNBC's Joe Scarborough had an at times heated discussion about budget deficits, debt, and the economy on PBS's Charlie Rose Monday evening.
At one point Krugman got so rattled by the facts that he actually said Scarborough quoting what he had said in the past was making an ad hominem attack against him (video follows with transcript and commentary):
Mika 'Angry' Stephanopoulos Invited Rodman On 'This Week
March 4th, 2013 7:53 AM
Ping-pong diplomacy worked with China, so why not b-ball diplomacy with North Korea? Mika Brzezinski is clearly not buying that line of logic. On today's Morning Joe, Brzezinski confessed to being "angry" with George Stephanopoulos for having the extraterrestrial otherwise known as Dennis Rodman on This Week to discuss his recent trip to North Korea, which included meeting with its new leader,…
MSNBC's Morning Joe Takes The Side Of The White House Against Woodward
March 1st, 2013 6:06 PM
Bob Woodward is a legend in modern journalism, especially for fellow liberal reporters. But that all is for naught now that Woodward has committed the cardinal sin of criticizing the White House for an operative's use of what apparently is a fairly common tactic: a harsh bullying of the press in order to demand even more favorable coverage than the Obama-friendly press already lavishes on Team…
Axelrod Disses Sperling To Downplay Woodward Dust-up
March 1st, 2013 8:28 AM
David Axelrod has written Gene Sperling off as a political lightweight lacking the tonnage to have intimidated Bob Woodward in their dust-up over the sequester.
Appearing on today's Morning Joe, Axelrod sarcastically asked "what is Gene Sperling going to do to Bob Woodward? Bob Woodward, who faced down H.R. Haldeman as a young man, feels intimidated by Gene Sperling?" You really have to…
