As NewsBusters readers know, one of my guilty pleasures is pointing out the staggering ignorance of Bill Maher. The object of my disaffection certainly didn't let me down Friday evening when on HBO's Real Time he actually told Congressman Barney Frank (D-Mass.) that we spend 42 percent of our total budget on defense (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Not surprisingly, Bill Maher and guest Ben Affleck took some cheap shots at former President George W. Bush during the Overtime installment of Friday's Real Time on HBO. Smacking them down was conservative author Ann Coulter who deliciously said, "This is getting more boring than Charlie Rose (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary):

Conservative author Ann Coulter made minced meat out of Bill Maher Friday. As HBO's Real Time host spewed Democrat talking point after Democrat talking point, Coulter told him, "You're watching MSNBC, and I would not trust them to give you the truth" (video follows with transcript and absolutely no need for additional commentary):

It's becoming incredibly clear since Barack Obama's horrible performance in last week's debate that his fans in the media are more and more desperate. On Sunday, HBO's Bill Maher said to his followers on Twitter, "John Sununu is a racist fat f--k" (serious vulgarity warning):

Actor and musician Ice T was apparently also displeased with Barack Obama's debate performance Wednesday. Commenting on Twitter Friday, Ice T wrote, "Message to the President: 'No weed before the next debate homie.'"

Just how awful was President Obama during Wednesday's debate with Mitt Romney? One of his financial supporters, HBO's Bill Maher, said Friday, "It looks like he took my million and spent it all on weed" (video follows with transcript and commentary, vulgarity warning):

How poorly did Barack Obama do in Wednesday's debate? So poorly that Bill Maher, one of his benefactors, tweeted, "i can't believe i'm saying this, but Obama looks like he DOES need a teleprompter":

In the just published excerpt of Ann Coulter's new book Mugged: Racial Demagoguery From the Seventies to Obama, the conservative author noted the racial double standards of MSNBC commentators such as Chris Matthews and Rachel Maddow. Appearing on Fox News's Fox & Friends Tuesday, Coulter expanded her criticism to Lawrence O'Donnell and HBO's Bill Maher (video follows with transcript):

To likely no one's surprise, HBO's Sarah Palin-bashing schlockudrama "Game Change" did very well at Sunday's Emmys. Julianne Moore won for best actress in a miniseries or movie, and proceeded to celebrate by mocking her character saying, "Wow, I feel so validated because Sarah Palin gave me a big thumbs down" (video follows with commentary):

Roger Hedgecock, the former San Diego mayor turned conservative talk radio host, called MSNBC's Chris Matthews a liar to his face Friday evening. This resulted in quite a heated exchange between the two on HBO's Real Time (video follows with transcript and commentary):

"When your guy left town, Dubya - who nobody asked him to come back by the way at the Republican convention - unemployment was well past ten percent and skyrocketing." Bill Maher not surprisingly spent most of his HBO show Friday trashing Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney. During his final New Rule, the Real Time host said, "In many ways we're all a bit Mitt Romney - and I don't just mean dorks in mom jeans who are afraid of black people" (video follows with transcript and commentary, serious vulgarity warning, file photo):

HBO's Bill Maher on Friday made an anti-Semitic joke about the producers of the anti-Muslim film some are claiming is responsible for anti-American uprisings around the world. To welcome guests to the Republican National Convention, the Media Research Center placed a "Don't Believe the Liberal Media" billboard outside the Tampa airport last week.
