Obama Administration Found in Contempt of Court, Media Silent
February 4th, 2011 12:46 PM
On Thursday, Louisiana Federal District Court Judge Martin Feldman found that the Obama Interior Department was in contempt of his ruling that the offshore oil drilling moratorium, imposed by the administration in 2010, was unconstitutional. After Feldman struck down the initial drilling ban, the Interior Department simply established a second ban that was virtually identical.
While the…

February 2nd, 2011 7:49 PM
CNN's Brooke Baldwin on Wednesday's Newsroom highlighted Lila Rose and Live Action Film's most recent hidden camera video showing Planned Parenthood aiding and abetting the covering up of sex crimes, unlike the morning and evening news shows of ABC, CBS, and NBC. Baldwin interviewed Rose and a spokesman from the abortion-providing organization, asking both fair questions about the controversy […
Only Fox News and Don Imus Report Schumer's Branches of Government Gaf
February 1st, 2011 8:19 PM
On Monday, NewsBusters asked, "Will Chris Matthews and MSNBC Spend Week Bashing Schumer's Branches of Government Gaffe?"
It turns out that not only didn't Matthews or MSNBC mention Sen. Chuck Schumer's (D-N.Y.) blunder on that network's extended prime time programs Monday, but a LexisNexis search identified that out of all America's many mainstream media outlets, only Fox News's Bret Baier…
Dan Rather on CNN: Obama Inspired Protests in Egypt
February 1st, 2011 4:51 PM
On Monday's Piers Morgan Tonight on CNN, disgraced former CBS anchor Dan Rather attributed the current protests in Egypt to President Obama's June 2009 speech to the Muslim world in Cairo: "He [Obama] fueled this uprising in Egypt. When he came to Cairo, let us remember, and he spoke of- listen, we stand for freedom and democracy and listening to people. The Egyptians believed his rhetoric" […
Will Chris Matthews and MSNBC Spend Week Bashing Schumer's Branches of
January 31st, 2011 10:17 AM
As NewsBusters has been reporting, the folks at MSNBC last week - in particular Chris Matthews - spent a great deal of time attacking former Alaska governor Sarah Palin and Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) for comments they erroneously felt disqualified the conservative women from public office.
Will this network and its commentators pay as much attention to Sen. Chuck Schumer's (D-N.…
Kurtz: MSNBC Complains About CNN Airing Bachmann's SOTU Response Then
January 30th, 2011 4:52 PM
Howard Kurtz on Sunday pointed out a delicious irony involving MSNBC and Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.).
After complaining about CNN's decision to air the Congresswoman's response to President Obama's State of the Union address Tuesday, MSNBC spent the next several days giving far more attention to her than to the official GOP respondent (video follows with transcript and commentary):
CNN’s New Executive VP Argued Not Raising Taxes Hikes Deficit: ‘Re
January 28th, 2011 12:54 PM
In picking Mark Whitaker, Washington Bureau Chief for NBC News, as its new Executive Vice President and Managing Editor (TVNewser post), CNN has selected someone with a liberal outlook who presumes not raising taxes can be blamed for an increase in the deficit.
On election night last year, Whitaker channeled a liberal argument in favor of hiking taxes, declaring during live NBC News…
Media Critic to Maddow: My Dog 'Has Better Journalism Credentials and
January 27th, 2011 2:51 PM
Some on the left have been crying foul at CNN's decision to air live Rep. Michele Bachmann's response to the president's State of the Union address Tuesday night. None have been more vocal than MSNBC libtalker Rachel Maddow.
One media critic had enough. On Thursday, the Baltimore Sun's David Zurawik laid into Maddow's criticism, saying it derives from "the mentality of a lockstep party member…
Liberal Media Ignore Plagiarism Allegations Against Obama
January 27th, 2011 1:14 PM
As it turns out, mainstream media outlets that lauded President Barack Obama's State of the Union speech as "downright Reaganesque" might be on to something.
While ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and MSNBC exalted the commander-in-chief, at least one observer charged the Democratic president with crafting a speech that was "tantamount to plagiarism."
In a column on the U.S. News site, presidential…
Ari Fleischer Educates David Gergen on Danger of New 'Investments' Wit
January 26th, 2011 11:54 AM
David Gergen not surprisingly believes that increased federal spending on education - or "investments" as Democrats like to say - is essential irrespective of our nation's current fiscal crisis.
On "Anderson Cooper 360" following the President's State of the Union address, former Bush press secretary Ari Fleischer did his darnedest to explain to the CNN senior political analyst that our…
Wolf Blitzer Makes a Fool of Bill Maher for Complaining About CNN Airi
January 26th, 2011 10:02 AM
NewsBusters for years has chronicled the staggering idiocy of comedian Bill Maher.
On Tuesday's "Situation Room," we got a hand from Wolf Blitzer when he marvelously countered Maher's complaint that CNN's decision to air Congresswoman Michele Bachmann's (R-Minn.) Tea Party response to the President's State of the Union address was depriving Democrats of equal time (video follows with…

January 25th, 2011 4:08 PM
CNN's 7 pm Eastern hour program John King USA was the only program on Monday and the following morning on Tuesday that mentioned the March for Life in Washington, DC. Anchor John King devoted only 11 seconds to the pro-life demonstration, and omitted crowd numbers and footage from the March. CNN.com's write-up on the annual event downplayed the number of attendees as merely in the "thousands…

January 23rd, 2011 4:00 PM
Every two weeks, the Media Research Center compiles the most outrageous liberal media quotes for our Notable Quotables newsletter. For the issue dated Monday, January 24, it’s a special edition, “Conservatives in the Crosshairs,” documenting the smarmy attempt by the liberal media to link conservatives — especially Sarah Palin, talk radio and the Tea Party — to the horrific shooting of U.S.…

January 23rd, 2011 2:16 PM
Media critic David Zurawik and former MSNBC contributor David Shuster got into quite a heated debate Sunday over the surprise exit of Keith Olbermann.
Appearing on CNN's "Reliable Sources," the pair also quarreled about the difference in journalistic standards at Fox News and MSNBC (video follows with transcript and commentary):
