Presidential historian, sometimes Biden speechwriter, and frequent MSNBC Jon Meacham joined The 11th Hour on Friday to recap what turned out to be a very eventful week. For Meacham, the week both the defense of Ukraine and the nomination of Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court are critically important for democracy, just like winning World War II.

On Friday’s edition of The 11th Hour on MSNBC, host Chris Jansing derisively claimed that the reason why Republicans were talking about the latest filing from Special Counsel John Durham’s investigation is because the GOP just wants to fire up its base and raise money.

Despite all the talk on MSNBC about norms and institutions, Brian Williams used Friday's edition of The 11th Hour to criticize Democrats for talking tough, but not having the "guts" to "pack or alter" the Supreme Court in light on the Court hearing oral arguments on Dobbs v Jackson Women's Health Organization earlier in the week.

On Tuesday's The 11th Hour show, MSNBC Brian Williams began his last few weeks hosting the show by spreading more misinformation as he accused Republicans of running a "disgusting smear campaign" against veteran and then-Democratic Senator Max Cleland when he ran for reelection in 2002.

On Friday's The 11th Hour, for about 30 seconds, Brian Williams did something that is rare for him and other journalists to do as he admitted that the national news media live in a liberal bubble, mostly interact with others who are in the same bubble, and are therefore out of touch with a mostly red country.

Friday's edition of The 11th Hour on MSNBC devolved into hyperbolic name-calling when host Brian Williams compared Republicans to "killers" and the Lincoln Project's Steve Schmidt comparing them to fascists all while Democrats do nothing to stop them.
