PolitiFact Backs Elizabeth Warren's Single-Payer Socialist Math

One of the maddening acts of so-called "fact checking" is the arrogant attempt to predict future outcomes at election time. It should seem obvious this is beyond the territory of "facts." Now PolitiFact has slapped a "True" label on Elizabeth Warren's cost estimates for her socialist "Medicare for All" plan....even as it appends an "If true" disclaimer to it.

'Madam Secretary' Once Again Lauds Press: 'Defender of the Truth'

CBS’s Madam Secretary has been on a roll in its final season. After achieving the liberal dream of a Hillary Clinton-like female president, the season also lectured us on free speech and brave reporters. This week, we’re back to praising the “defenders of truth” in the media, straight from the president herself.

Pow! ‘Batwoman’ Battles Homophobic Strawman in Latest Episode

CW’s Batwoman is a bad show on good day. When it occasionally brings up social justice talking points, it can only get worse. Unfortunately, this week is another time where things only get worse as Batwoman fights her biggest enemy: homophobia.

NYT Hates 'Embarrassing' Fox, Longs for Good Old Days of Three Nets

New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof attacked the one network not pushing all-out for a Trump impeachment in the Sunday Review: “Is Fox ‘News’ Or Trump’s Bodyguard?” For the veteran liberal commentator, things were better when the three networks spouted the same brand of anti-Nixon corporate liberalism to an audience with few other news choices. Kristof got wacky: "Some 18,000 people died in…

NPR Rips Matt Bevin, Not Stacey Abrams, on Election Legitimacy

Nine days after the election, Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin conceded defeat on Thursday. A year after her defeat, Georgia's Stacey Abrams maintains she was robbed. Ashe Schow at the Daily Wire pointed out this week that NPR has a very different standard on this score for Republicans and Democrats.

CNN's New Day Only Has Guests Who Want More Gun Control

In their first show after the Santa Clarita school shooting, the CNN morning team on New Day handled the story in their typical fashion of only having guests who support more gun control and who falsely portray Republicans as having no proposals for how to lessen mass shootings. The show also included the bizarre recurring theme of beginning the discussion by lamenting that gun control had not…

Excited NYT: Could Trump's Mean Tweet Be Witness Tampering? (No)

The New York Times offered up a silly time-waster of a “news analysis” from Charlie Savage and Michael Shear in Saturday’s paper, one that elevated Trump’s mean tweets about former Ukraine ambassador Marie Yovanovitch to “witness tampering" They huffed: “President Trump on Friday attacked Marie L. Yovanovitch, the former United States ambassador to Ukraine he summarily removed this year, even as…

Rather on CNN: ‘Truth Is Closing In’ on Trump! Also, He Runs a CULT

In a Sunday segment on so-called “Reliable Sources”, media janitor and host Brian Stelter proved how much of a clown show CNN was by trotting out disgraced journalist Dan Rather to talk about, of all things: why the “truth still matters.” At the same time, Stelter wanted Rather to talk about how the “truth is closing in” on President Trump, and how the President apparently runs a cult.

‘What Matters’? Facts Don’t, When NBC Demands Gun Control Now!

In a blatant attempt to exploit the Santa Clarita school shooting the very next day, Friday’s NBC Nightly News conveniently queued up their ‘What Matters’ segment to push the Democratic Party’s desire to do away with gun rights in America. While the segment dealt with what mattered to Democratic voters it didn’t deal with the facts that mattered.

Stelter's Sermon: Hannity Trashing Impeachment 'Hurts All of Us'

CNN media correspondent Brian Stelter apppeared on their Newsroom show on Saturday afternoon to preach an early sermon that the dismissive impeachment chatter of Fox News opinion hosts "hurts all of us because it makes it impossible to have a debate about the facts." Stelter seems to avoid the notion that when you tell the Fox audience that facts that are unfriendly to the liberal narrative aren'…

Maher Slams Conservatives as 'Hate'-Filled 'Rubes,' 'Bible Thumpers'

Real Time host Bill Maher concluded his satirical segment “New Rules” on Friday by advising his audience to “just celebrate Thanksgiving, don’t try to win it.” At first glance, his closing monologue might have seemed like words of wisdom for those who “see politics so differently from people who share your very blood.” But it quickly turned into a rant against “hate”-filled “rubes” and “Bible…

NYTimes: ‘The Truth Is Worth It’...But Erase the Whistleblower’s Name?

New York Times impeachment coverage continued with the paper casting as heroic the testimony of Maria Yovanovitch under a predictably treacly banner headline over Saturday’s front page: “Ex-Envoy ‘Devastated’ As Trump Vilified Her.”  Sheera Frenkel was strangely unconcerned that powerful social media companies were squelching speech online by trying to memory-hole a name being bandied about…

ESPN, USA Today Shill for Kaepernick's Return

Prior to Saturday's unprecedented, privileged NFL workout for Colin Kaepernick, sports media made their "final arguments" to the court of public opinion. Max Kellerman of the ESPN First Take program and Jarrett Bell of USA Today shilled for the return of the man who's been in exile and who's broken no rules or laws. First Take's Stephen A. Smith said the NFL doesn't owe Kaepernick anything, but…

PBS Finds 23 Seconds for Dow Passing 28,000 -- ABC, CBS, NBC Spiked It

The PBS NewsHour managed to find 23 seconds that ABC, CBS, and NBC couldn't find on Friday night...Another record high on Wall Street. They couldn't manage to add any context for Trump in their 11-minute-long Week in Review segment, as "conservative" David Brooks wisecracked the Democrats were killing it on impeachment: "If this were a football game, it would be 42 to 3."
