Iowa Bans 'Telemed' Abortions
In another victory for life, the Iowa Board of Medicine voted today to ban so-called telemed abortions. Those are medical abortion procedures prescribed remotely often by the use of Internet teleconferencing software.
Daniel James Devine of World magazine has the story. Here's an excerpt (emphasis mine):
CBS Laments Pope's 'Religious Street Protest' is Anti-Obama, Pro-Putin
On Friday's CBS This Morning, Mark Phillips all but hinted that Pope Francis had "taken sides" with Russia's Vladimir Putin and against President Obama in the international debate over military strikes in Syria. Phillips proposed that the Pope's letter to Putin "must have been music to the Russian president's ears."
The journalist also turned to a "Vatican historian" who once publicly…
MSNBC Slams FNC on Welfare Fraud, GOP's 'Stunning New Attack' on Food
On Thursday's PoliticsNation on MSNBC, Washington Post political reporter Nia-Malika Henderson and MSNBC contributor Goldie Taylor joined host Al Sharpton to go after Republicans for trying to cut back food stamp allowances, with Sharpton seeing "vile rhetoric" from conservatives and a "stunning new attack on millions of Americans trying to put food on the table."
The MSNBC host also fretted…
NPR Pressed to Correct False Rape-and-Pregnancy Story by Daily Beast B
Washington Post media blogger Erik Wemple recalled Daily Beast boss Tina Brown hate-tweeting her former Washington bureau chief Howard Kurtz: “am I forgetting something or didn’t I fire you for serial inaccuracy?”
“That was a bit of classlessness that simply wasn’t going to go unpunished,” Wemple wrote. “And now the journalism gods have spoken, via a correction that is available on NPR.” On…
Donny Deutsch: 'I'm Shocked the Country Is Not Lining Up' Behind Obama
It really has been amazing the past few weeks watching staunchly anti-war liberals in the media supporting an attack on Syria all because Barack Obama - who happened to run on an anti-war platform! - is for it.
Take Donny Deutsch as an example, who on MSNBC's Morning Joe Friday proudly declared himself as being part of the 20 percent of the nation in favor of an attack whilst stating, "I’m…
ABCNews.com's Facebook Page Omits Biggest News from September Unemploy
Reporting on the latest unemployment reports by the U.S. government, ABCNews's Facebook page curiously left out the most newsworthy statistic: 63.2 percent. That's where the labor force participation rate stands right now. [see screen capture below the page break] It's the lowest it's been since 1978.
But here's how ABCNews's social media editors teased Facebook visitors:
Jon Karl Dares to Grill Obama on Syria: 'It's a Pretty Basic Question
In a break from the usual softballs that Barack Obama receives at news conferences, the President on Friday endured some tough questions, including a testy exchange with ABC's Jon Karl. The White House correspondent pressed Obama, looking for a "direct response" to a previous question: Will the U.S. launch strikes against Syria, regardless of whether Congress approves it?
Obama lectured, "And…
Ed Schultz Blames Bush, Says Conservatives Who Oppose War in Syria Do
On Thursday, MSNBC’s Ed Schultz informed his dwindling audience that while it’s okay for him to oppose conflict in Syria, conservative lawmakers who oppose war do so only because they hate Obama.
He also blamed George W. Bush for Obama’s inability to cobble together an international coalition.
Video: Bozell, Hannity Look at Conflicted Liberal Media Handling Obama
President Obama's push for military action against the Assad regime in Syria has some die-hard Obama acolytes at MSNBC finally speaking out against the president. "Even with Chris Matthews, the Obamagasm is gone," cracked Sean Hannity last night. Does "the love story [end] here?" he asked NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell on the September 5 program's "Media Mash" segment.
Not so fast,…
AP's Matt Lee Shows Some Spine Challenging WH on Syria
Associated Press reporter Matt Lee has been on the State Department beat for almost four years. At times, he has been one of a very few establishment press reporters who will challenge Obama administration officials when their assertions become too brazen to tolerate.
One of those times (HT Business Insider via Hot Air) occurred yesterday, when hapless State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki…
Santelli on Market Rally after Jobs Report: ‘What Are We, A Banana R
The August Jobs Report showed 169,000 jobs were added, less than many had predicted and revisions from previous months even included a drop of 74,000 jobs. So the jobs total for the month was really just 95,000.
The stock market continued to rally, but CNBC’s Rick Santelli, who covers the Chicago Board of Trade, said that such a contrast was upsetting. “What are we, a banana republic?”…
Bozell Column: Purple State, Deep Blue Media
If you think The Washington Post comes to any Virginia election with an open mind and an objective approach, I have some macaca to sell you. Anyone who runs as a Republican statewide in the Old Dominion has to prepare to be blasted as a troglodyte.
And if that Republican is conservative, it’s open season.
Poor Baby President: Axelrod Wonders Whether He Did Obama Favor By Get
One thing is certain: Axelrod didn't do the rest of us any favors . . .
On today's Morning Joe, after Joe Scarborough empathized at length, in the context of the Syrian situation, about what a lonely job President Obama has, David Axelrod actually had the chutzpah to say "there have been many days where I wonder, gee, I wonder if all of us who helped him get elected did him a favor." View…
WashPost Crusades for 'Preferred Gender Pronouns' on Campus, Gender in
The Washington Post’s agenda of “expanded acceptance” for the LGBTQ agenda was apparent on the front of Friday’s Style section, with the headline: “He or she might actually favor ‘ze’: Preferred gender pronouns for transgender people get more awareness.” Reporter Ruth Tam led this indoctrination, and no one who isn’t “progressive” is included.
Tam began with an “Allied In Pride” organizer at…
