TV news pundits have been hard at work over the past 24 hours, attempting to spin Thursday's sky-high inflation report as something other than a disaster for Democrats.

On Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough brags that, unlike Ohio Republican Senate candidate J.D. Vance, he wouldn't stand for Trump or anyone trying to emasculate him. He shouldn't say such a thing, given his history supporting Trump.

On its show of October 4th, Morning Joe devotes over 15 minutes to the story that Herschel Walker, who has taken a strong pro-life position, once paid for a girlfriend's abortion. Walker has flatly denied the allegation. Morning Joe makes frequent mention of Walker's alleged "hypocrisy."

On Morning Joe, retired Admiral James Stavridis, commenting on Putin's chaotic call-up of 300,000 conscripts, came up with a truly strange metaphor, saying: "This is like pulling a bunch of bartenders off of Fifth Avenue, and sending them out to the front lines. It's not going to work."

On Morning Joe, Mika Brzezinski says that Republican policies on immigration aren't "Christian," and might backfire on the GOP.

On Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough admits there's a border crisis, but accuses Republican governors of engaging in "grotesque" human trafficking by bussing and flying migrants to northern locations. Hillary Clinton took her Apple TV Gutsy promotional tour to the Thursday-taped edition Late Night with Seth Meyers on NBC where Meyers wondered why Republicans are such hypocrites on classified materials. The routine repeated itself on MSNBC’s Morning Joe on Friday morning with host Willie Geist wondering the same thing.

Morning Joe fails to identify as a Democrat the man charged with the murder of a Las Vegas investigative reporter, and spends only 47 seconds on the story. CNN's New Day devotes over three minutes to the story, and though it buries the fact deep in the segment, does eventually identify the suspect, Robert Telles, as a "Democratic politician."

The Morning Joe crew cheerleads for Biden and the Democrats, claiming that there is a "momentum shift and turning point" in their favor, and that Biden and the Dems are "on a roll" and have "the wind at their back" heading into the midterms. 

Morning Joe is surprisingly skeptical of Biden's student loan forgiveness program. Much of the criticism aired focused on the unfairness of the plan, which helps people who have gone deep into college debt, while doing nothing for those who didn't go to college, or who saved to go to college or went to less expensive schools.

Charlie Crist used to be a Republican. Then he became an independent. Later he was a Democrat. Now, the protean politician appears to be portraying himself as the candidate of the Party of God! Can Charlie Crist possibly believe that he is God's chosen candidate? Or is his current flaunting of religiosity just the latest cynical change of colors by the ultimate political chameleon?

On Morning Joe, Willie Geist says that despite his defense of the FBI, Mike Pence is "not completely clean" because he said that the Justice Department can be questioned regarding its decision to conduct a search of Mar-a-Lago.

Richard Haass, head of the Council on Foreign Relations, opines that 9/11 would not be happy about it. It is Thursday, and on this edition of Morning Joe, barely a word uttered about January 6! The main highlight this time was the GDP numbers being released, and the show’s relief host Willie Geist did not seem too happy about what these numbers represent: America in a recession.
