Reporters hyped an “explosive” newly-revealed letter from Special Counsel Robert Mueller as a “bombshell” that would ensure a “grilling” of Barr.

On Wednesday, both NBC’s Today show and ABC’s Good Morning America promoted congressional Democrats complaining about Attorney General William Barr’s testimony on Capitol Hill regarding the upcoming release of the Mueller report. After news broke that Special Counsel Robert Mueller would be delivering his final Russia investigation report to Attorney General William Barr in the coming days, on Thursday, NBC’s Today show and CBS This Morning promised viewers that the investigation would continue regardless of Mueller’s findings.

ABC and NBC on Tuesday ignored the fact that a lawsuit brought by 16 Attorneys General is entirely a partisan effort with every one being filed by Democrats. After the network initially ignored Democratic Senator and 2020 presidential candidate Kamala Harris calling for the private health insurance industry to be abolished, on Wednesday, NBC’s Today show finally acknowledged how her radical proposal “sparked controversy.” The report also fretted over signs of “Democratic division” heading into the primary campaign.
