On Wednesday, all three network morning shows touted news that former Special Counsel Robert Mueller would testify before Congress on July 17th as a win for Democrats who hope to make the event a “blockbuster television event” filled with “high theater.” Reporters seemed giddy as they listed the questions House Democrats would likely ask Mueller about the Russia investigation.

The Washington Free Beacon reported two fact-manglings at the scene of MSNBC on Wednesday. Reporter Vaughn Hillyard weirdly claimed President Trump didn't mention abortion in his re-election campaign launch in Orlando on Tuesday night. MSNBC host Kasie Hunt claimed Biden was courting controversy with kind words about segregationist Republicans. They were southern Democrats. 

In an effort to exploit Friday’s tragic shooting at a Virginia Beach municipal building that killed 12 people, Virginia Democratic Governor Ralph Northam called on the state legislature to pass new gun restrictions. On Tuesday, MSNBC naturally brought him on for an interview to help push the issue, though anchor Kasie Hunt admitted it would be a challenge given his recent scandals.

Guest hosting Morning Joe, Willie Geist suggests that the Democrats' decision to call John Dean—former star Watergate witness against Richard Nixon—to testify at next week's House Judiciary Committee hearing "add[s] to President Trump’s argument that it's just a big a clown show." 

On Sunday's Kasie DC show, during a segment on the new abortion laws passed by a number of conservative states, MSNBC host Kasie Hunt only made room for reactions from liberals as Planned Parenthood president Leana Weng and National Urban League president Marc Morial were allowed to participate in the segment.

During MSNBC’s 2:00 p.m. ET hour on Thursday, fill-in anchor Kasie Hunt impatiently wondered: “What more do congressional Democrats need to hear before they make a decision about impeachment?” In the segment that followed, she pressed Congressman Hakeem Jeffries on when liberal lawmakers would start proceedings against President Trump.

With his arms flying around the screen, self-proclaimed politics referee Chuck Todd seemed more like an armchair quarterback shouting plays at the TV during Tuesday’s MTP Daily on MSNBC. Todd was literally up in arms over the apparent utter lack of strategy and prioritization from Congressional Democrats looking to get rid of Trump.

During a press conference Thursday morning, Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was asked by MSNBC correspondent Kasie Hunt if Attorney General William Barr had committed perjury when he testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday and whether he “should go to jail for it.”

MSNBC on Monday brought on New York Times op-ed writer Bret Stephens to talk about the rising threat of bigotry and anti-Semitism. Stephens made a splash on Monday when he indignantly condemned his own bosses at the paper for perpetrating bigotry with an anti-Jewish cartoon. Yet, amazingly, MSNBC didn’t mention his column at all. 

The cast of MSNBC's Morning Joe spent much of Wednesday's show arguing that it would be foolish for Democrats to launch impeachment proceedings against President Trump. Co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Willie Geist, along with most of the panelists, concurred that Democrats would be wise to focus on winning in 2020.

South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg is rising in the polls and therefore, is starting to face criticism from fellow Democratic presidential contenders who see him as a threat. While most would say this is only natural, MSNBC Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski expressed deep concern on Tuesday that Buttigieg is now receiving criticism.
