As impeachment passions continue to heat up in Washington, MSNBC Live host Stephanie Ruhle thought it would be a good idea to bring some historical perspective to the conversation on her Tuesday show. Unfortunately for viewers however, that perspective was brought by historian Jon Meacham who bungled some key points on his way to making a more partisan, than objective historical analysis.  

Despite repeated assertions that there is no “glee or joy” in the matter, the mood on Thursday’s Hardball was ebullient as host Chris Matthews and his parade of guests basked in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s decision to have the House drop its charade and admit that they’re looking toward impeaching President Trump.

Jon Meacham got one thing right. On today's Morning Joe, he said that the heads of any conservatives listening to him would blow up over their Wheaties. What was Meacham's remark that was so explosive to any right-thinking listener? His prediction that someday, we'll look back and realize that Al Gore was . . . In the midst of President Trump visiting with victims of the mass shootings in Dayton and El Paso on Wednesday, on MSNBC, presidential historian and regular liberal pundit Jon Meacham bemoaned Trump’s response to the attacks and even derided his Monday White House address denouncing them as a “hostage video.”

A quick flashback to election night of 2016 would bring to the forefront memories of an earth shattering defeat for the liberal media and an ensuing shock. There is no need to reminisce on this moment if you are an avid viewer of Hardball with Chris Matthews where the meltdown over President Trump’s occupancy in office persists on a nightly basis. On MSNBC’s Deadline: White House Wednesday, host Nicolle Wallace weighed in on President Trump’s “cringeworthy” trip to the United Kingdom and, naturally, Wallace and her guests (including two former Obama administration officials), trashed Brexit and President Trump’s “America First” m antra as “xenophobic.” And for good measure, they called into question his mental health.

On Wednesday night, controversy broke over President Trump’s Memorial Day Weekend visit to Japan when Wall Street Journal White House reporter Rebecca Ballhaus tweeted that the White House wanted the U.S.S. John McCain “out of sight” for Trump’s visit. She also reported that “a tarp was hung over the ship’s name” and that sailors “who wear caps bearing the ship’s name were given the day off.” It…
