During MSNBC’s 3 p.m. ET hour on Wednesday, anchor Ali Velshi breathlessly made a sweeping declaration to viewers: “It certainly feels like we’re in the opening stages of a devastating political chapter in American history. Evidence is mounting for the President’s meddling in the Russia probe.”

During MSNBC’s 11 a.m. ET hour on Thursday, anchor Ali Velshi tried to turn legitimate questions raised by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes into whether there was “inappropriate” surveillance of Donald Trump’s presidential transition team by the Obama administration into a scandal that may require the Republican Congressman to resign from office.

Appearing on the 11 a.m. ET hour of MSNBC on Thursday, California Democratic Congressman Ted Lieu laughably told viewers of the left-wing network: “The best way to oppose fake news is for people to watch outlets like MSNBC, where you report real news all the time.”

Despite left-wing MSNBC host Rachel Maddow being lampooned on social media and even by her media colleagues Tuesday night over her laughable "scoop" that Donald Trump paid his taxes, on Wednesday, the mockery didn’t deter the network from devoting extensive air time to the story every hour from 6 a.m. through noon ET.

On Thursday, MSNBC anchor Ali Velshi teed up a softball interview with left-wing California Congresswoman Maxine Waters by wondering: “You think that Donald Trump should be impeached over Russia and anything else – any other discussion distracts us from that investigation. You still hold true to that?”

That’s how few stories three combined networks devoted in their evening broadcasts to the record run that sent stocks so high, the market followed by closing above 21,000 for the very first time.
