As most readers may know by now, one of the biggest Trump-haters in Hollywood is television producer Shonda Rhimes, a fanatical progressive who has created the highly successful prime time soap operas Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal for ABC. Hollywood Reporter critic Daniel Fienberg found ominous parallels in The Handmaid’s Tale a series on Hulu that debuts its first three episodes April 26. Men who try to act like liberal feminists took a powerful beating on the NBC superhero comedy Powerless on Thursday night. In the episode “Green Furious,” Emily (Vanessa Hudgens) is working with superhero Green Fury on a commercial for the Wayne Security Poncho. The only problem is that the ad calls for Green Fury to be naked and that’s going to be a tough sell.

Oprah’s show Greenleaf, a drama featuring a Christian “megachurch” and the fallible humans behind it, has been all over the map when it comes to representing Christian values accurately. One minute, the show is depicting gay conversion therapy programs in a positive light. The next, it’s sending the message that Christians who don’t support gay marriage are “broken.”
