Russia invades Ukraine

Reacting Wednesday to President Biden’s State of the Union address from the night prior, the broadcast network mornings newscasts on ABC, CBS, and NBC largely decided to play White House stenographers in touting Biden’s “call[s] for unity” and focus “on common ground and not...partisanship.” It resulted, one network said, in cheers that were akin to American unity after 9/11.

NBC News was finally in tune with most of America Tuesday night after President Biden’s State of the Union address left them feeling unsure about the fate of Ukraine and confused by some of what was said on the House floor.

Immediately after Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds gave the GOP response to President Biden’s Tuesday night State of the Union address, CNN chief political correspondent Dana Bash defended Biden from attacks from Reynolds on his Russia record.

CNN chief political analyst Gloria Borger suffered from some short-term memory loss while reacting President Biden's Tuesday State of the Union address, claiming that she can't remember the last time a president received a bipartisan standing ovation because certainly former-President Trump never received one.

CNN didn’t waste any time heaping praise on President Biden for his State of the Union address on Tuesday night with Jake Tapper proclaiming his performance was “quintessential Biden” and Van Jones declaring that “Uncle Joe is back”

This is where the leftist media’s priorities lie. On Tuesday evening, while previewing President Joe Biden’s upcoming State of the Union address, both CBS’s Evening News anchor Norah O’Donnell and NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt worried that Russian President Vladimir Putin could potentially “upstage” Biden during his speech by launching a “deadly attack” on Ukraine. 

As MRC’s Free Speech America noted Tuesday afternoon, DirecTV yanked RT America off its airwaves due to its role as Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s personal mouthpiece in the U.S. as he wages war against the innocent people of Ukraine. And, at 1:00 p.m. Eastern, they made good on their promise, roughly 45 minutes after Axios’s Sara Fischer broke the news.

In the latest of their fatuous “fact checks” that rate something “Mostly False” as they acknowledge it’s actually true, PolitiFact took after Fox News host Maria Bartiromo for saying this to fellow Fox host Jesse Watters on his show on February 22: “We have doubled our (oil) imports from Russia in the last year.”

Previewing President Biden’s State of the Union address, White House press secretary Jen Psaki joined FNC’s America’s Newsroom on Tuesday and squared off against co-hosts Bill Hemmer and Dana Perino over President Biden’s response to Russia’s war with Ukraine and specifically the administration’s refusal to budge on domestic oil and gas production and the timing of the CDC dropping…

DirecTV dropped Russian propaganda outlet RT America on Tuesday as a belated response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. DirecTV absurdly refused to renew One America News Network earlier this year while RT’s programming was only suspended after Russia invaded Ukraine.

Appearing on CNN's New Day on Tuesday morning, former Bush speechwriter David Frum advised Biden to stress two things in his SOTU tonight. First, to use the Ukraine situation to take a swipe at Trump's foreign policy. Second, shift the blame for inflation from Biden to Putin, and accuse any politician who mentions inflation of undermining Ukraine!

On Tuesday morning, the news broke: DirectTV was FINALLY dropping Russian propaganda outfit RT (formerly known as Russia Today). With that, we ask: what took so long? During the invasion of Ukraine, the network has been spewing a steady stream of lies that blame the Ukrainian people for being invaded, ridiculous spin about saving the country from phantom Nazis and other falsehoods. 

ABC’s Good Morning America subjected viewers Tuesday to nauseating segment with former First Daughter and failed NBC News correspondent Chelsea Clinton featuring not only her latest children’s book, but extremely tall tales of how Bill and Hillary empowered their grandkids to eat ice cream and pizza when they all lived together during the initial COVID wave. 

Despite Russia’s invasion of Ukraine being condemned by the U.S. and kindred countries around the world, Twitter continues to allow Russian President Vladimir to post on its platform.
