NBC's Andrea Mitchell to Claire McCaskill: 'We're Going to Be Fine' For 'Taking Back the Senate'

November 8th, 2016 1:02 PM

This isn't a surprise as much as it's additional confirmation that the press has openly taken sides, and doesn't even care any more that the fact they have taken sides is widely known.

Shortly after noon on Monday, in three publicly visible tweets to Missouri Democratic Party Senator Claire McCaskill, Mitchell referred to how "we're going to be fine in terms of taking back the Senate," whined about how FBI Director James Comey had "muddled this race," and wondered why "he sent that letter" — presumably referring to his letter to Congress in late October concerning the Hillary Clinton email investigation.

Here are those tweets (links are here, here, and here):

We don't really have to ask who "we" is, do we?

Sunday evening, as Curtis Houck at NewsBusters noted on Monday, Mitchell "could barely contain her excitement for a Sunday night Hillary Clinton rally that she described as being both 'extraordinary' and 'magical.'"

Two weeks ago, Mitchell, right there on camera and visible to all, appeared to have been fed a softball question to ask Mrs. Clinton at her in-plane press conference supplied by Mrs. Clinton campaign manager.

Four weeks ago, she claimed that there was "no smoking gun" in the John Podesta emails published by WikiLeaks. Holy moly, Andrea; there's whole arsenal.

Readers here know we could go on and on and on with dozens of examples — just this year.

NBC and MSNBC are clearly willing to continue to employ Andrea Mitchell. Thus, they must be content with how she is so willing to serve as a de facto Hillary Clinton campaign and Democratic Party apparatchik.
