NewsBusters Podcast: Networks Adore Red-State Dems, Omit Blue-State Extremists

While the national liberal networks tout Democrats fighting the GOP in red state legislatures, radical left-wing bills in blue states are going ignored. In one week in April, ABC, CBS, and NBC combined for more than 90 minutes of promotional news coverage of Democrats in the Tennessee state legislature being removed from office (temporarily) for protesting on the floor. In Montana, transgender Democrat Zooey Zephyr was denied speaking privileges for accusing "anti-trans" legislators of having "blood on your hands."

NewsBusters media editor Bill D'Agostino explains his findings about five extreme Democrat legislative proposals on gender, abortion, and crime that are going ignored. For example, Minnesota Democrats wanted a "thought crime' database for the state Department of Human Rights, as well as wanting to strip legislating language saying pedophilia was not a "sexual orientation."

In Washington state, they passed a bill making it easy for teenagers to seek out "host homes" and avoid their parents while they seek abortions or gender-denying treatments. In Oregon, they introduced a bill to allow teenagers to seek abortions without parental notification. None of these bills has been reported, so these states are never examined as passing anything extreme or alarming.
