NewsBusters Podcast: Kevin McCarthy vs. Hostile Reporters and Fact Checkers

Conservative Twitter buzzed on Wednesday about Speaker McCarthy letting PBS congressional reporter Lisa Desjardins have it about Rep. Adam Schiff being removed from the Intelligence Committee, as she pestered him about Rep. George Santos, suggesting he shouldn't be on any committees. McCarthy asked her "Is Santos on the Intel Committee? Am I allowing Schiff to be on other committees?” 

She kept pushing. “Okay, let me be very clear and respectful to you. You asked me a question. When I answer it, it’s the answer to your question. You don’t get to determine whether I answer your question or not, okay? In all respect. Thank you,” McCarthy said.  

McCarthy is also facing aggressive pushback from the "independent fact checkers" of the liberal media. Glenn Kessler of The Washington Post and CNN's Daniel Dale are demonstrating again that they tilt their targeting at Republicans. Meanwhile, NPR is painting McCarthy as a puppet in the hands of the "hard-right flank" of Republicans.
