On the latest NewsBusters Podcast, we notice that the late-night "comedians" aren't willing to roast President Biden for the debacle in Afghanistan. In fact, NBC's Seth Meyers complained Afghanistan was a bipartisan failure and praised Biden as the "salty grandpa" who can tell us what we didn't want to hear, that all we needed to get out.
Stephen Colbert on CBS changed the subject to anti-vaxxer crazies yelling "Heil Fauci" in California, smearing them over Republican contenders in the recall election that could remove Gov. Gavin Newsom. CNN's Kamau Bell took to Twitter to suggest a vote against Newsom was a vote for anti-vaxxer nuts.
The "fact checkers" aren't all covering Biden's recent defenses of his handling of Afghanistan. Snopes.com didn't check Biden, but it did give a "Mostly True" to the Occupy Democrats attacking Trump. PolitiFact went a week until it ran one "Half True" check of Biden. Meanwhile, they threw a "False" on Fox News Channel's Instagram page for being too mean to Dr. Fauci...and Dr. Fauci has never been subjected to a PolitiFact check. Like Jen Psaki, he has no page on the website.
