In the latest NewsBusters Podcast, we explore NPR posting a story on Monday headlined "Outrage As A Business Model: How Ben Shapiro Is Using Facebook To Build An Empire."
We can start with the bizarre idea that "outrage as a business model" is a conservative-media thing. As if CNN and MSNBC don't peddle outrage at Trump and the Republicans pretty much 24/7.
NPR lamented "In 2021, Ben Shapiro rules Facebook." Move over, Zuckerberg! Shapiro wasn't taking this attack lying down. He tweeted "The establishment media's deep desire to keep people from clicking on stories they want to read, and to re-establish their traditional informational monopoly -- now an effort funded by US taxpayer dollars via NPR -- is truly authoritarian garbage."
We also discuss the embarrassing Sunday displays by Brian Stelter and Dana Bash on CNN. Enjoy the podcast below, or wherever you enjoy your podcasts. Spread the word, alert your friends.
