Microsoft's aggregating site MSN.com was promoting at the top of its page on Friday an article from People magazine that actress Olivia Wilde was lobbying Ivanka Trump for a "clean DREAM act." Wilde, who's best known for four years on the Fox medical drama House, is the daughter of radical-left journalists Andrew and Leslie Cockburn.
The 33-year-old actress called out Ivanka Trump in a Thanksgiving Day Instagram post after realizing the president's daughter was following her on the social media app. Ivanka has spoken out on the need for a "longterm fix" for children of illegal aliens. The message read:
“I see you’re following me on Instagram. This Thanksgiving I would be grateful if you use the influence you have to advocate for a CLEAN Dream Act by December. Every day that passes without a clean Dream Act means anxiety and deportation for immigrant youth. “7,901 youth have already lost DACA and 122 more will lose it each day. Thank you and happy holidays.”
Surely, Trump's voting base would be outraged if the president kept what Barack Obama imposed by executive order. Wilde, a big backer of the American Civil Liberties Union, is pushing the ACLU line, through a bill called the Dream Act of 2017, sponsored in the Senate by Democrat Richard Durbin and Republican Lindsey Graham. Other Republican co-sponsors are Jeff Flake (Arizona), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), and Cory Gardner (Colorado).
