Wasting no time, ABC on Monday jumped to gun control and finding possible villains for the mass slaughter in Las Vegas. Reporter Cecilia Vega cited a Hillary Clinton tweet bashing the NRA and worried about GOP gun legislation in the House. With the facts still unclear, Good Morning America co-host George Stephanopoulos lectured, “This is going to re-open the debate over guns in this country.”
During later live coverage, Vega alerted, “The House could decide soon on a measure that would make it easier to buy silencers. This is a very controversial measure proposed by a Republican member from South Carolina.” She added, “Hillary Clinton is weighing in this morning, blaming and calling out the NRA for a measure like this.”
Clinton tweeted this out: “Our grief isn't enough. We can and must put politics aside, stand up to the NRA, and work together to try to stop this from happening again.” Vega concluded by deciding, “So this is certainly something President Trump will have to address this issue of gun control in the days and weeks to come.”
Clearly, it’s likely that liberal journalists will force the President to address the issue from the perspective of gun control advocates such as Clinton.
On MSNBC, the hosts blamed the shooting on “insane” “lack of gun regulations.”

DAN ABRAMS: Well, it is. But I think it's really important make sure we do it accurately. I think as Ray points out, we don't necessarily know it was an automatic weapon, per se and, remember, automatic weapons are generally illegal around the country. There are exceptions to that. But one can take a semi-automatic weapon, a perfectly legal one and transform it into an automatic weapon. I think that the first question people are going to want to know is did he acquire these weapons legally. I mean that's going to be the question and if he didn't, where
did he get them? How did he get them? Who did he get them from? There's no question that that will be a part of this investigation and an important one....

We are told that it is the goal of this measure is to help protect the hearing of hunters. Critics on the other hand, say it will make it harder to detect where the shooter is coming from during a mass casualty event like the one we have seen in Las Vegas. And of course, the politics comes with this. Hillary Clinton is weighing in this morning, blaming and calling out the NRA for a measure like this. So this is certainly something President Trump will have to address this issue of gun control in the days and weeks to come as we often see presidents have to deal with in the wake of these shootings.
