Ever since Donald Trump was elected President in 2016, liberal Democrats have been eagerly demanding that the GOP occupant of the White House be impeached. However, those efforts were dealt a serious blow on Monday when House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told The Washington Post that America “should not go down that path because it divides the country....and he’s just not worth it.”
Instead of being disappointed, Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski called Pelosi’s statement “kind of fantastic” and claimed it is actually driving Trump “crazy.”
Brzezinski strongly praised the California Democrat, whom she asserted is “as clever as she is tough” and called the new strategy “a very patient, deliberate smart move.”
The co-host first enthusiastically read part of Pelosi’s interview:
I’m not for impeachment. This is news. I’ve been thinking about this: Impeachment is so divisive to the country that unless there’s something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan, I don’t think we should go down that path because it divides the country.
“And he’s just not worth it,” Brzezinski swooned.
During the ensuing discussion with the panelists, PBS NewsHour White House correspondent Yamiche Alcindor asserted that the Democratic official included “some dismissiveness there” even though “you kind of have to acknowledge President Trump” because “he likes to beat up on the media.”
However, the Republican leader “also likes to watch himself” and “likes to watch people talking about him.”
Alcindor continued the amateur psychological analysis by stating that Trump also “likes the idea of thinking of himself as this kind of orbit, this sun that everyone’s rotating around and everyone’s talking about.”
Post columnist David Ignatius agreed with his fellow panelist by pretending to be Trump: “Impeach me. I want my TV time.”
Later, Brzezinski rejoined the discussion by once more singing the Democrat’s praises: “Again and again, Nancy Pelosi has proven that she is as clever as she is tough” while “showing discipline as a leader.”
The co-host continued: “She has now dismissed both the left’s obsession with a dangerous and likely doomed effort to impeach Trump, and Trump himself, driving him crazy.”
Next up, Brzezinski stated:
Pelosi basically told the Washington Post “this man is not worthy of the office he holds, and you kind of have to work around him, and he is not worth dividing the country anymore.” It’s true. He’s not. Based on what we know now that she said: “Let’s focus on having the voters retire Trump in 2020,” a very patient, deliberate, smart move by the Speaker.
As NewsBusters previously reported, this is far from the first time Brzezinski has hammered the GOP occupant of the White House.
After the 2019 State of the Union address, the co-host singled out Donald Trump as a unique kind of liar by asking: “How can anyone see this as a good speech?” She also denounced the President for allegedly “spewing out lies” by declaring: “His data is wrong. His concepts are based on incorrect facts.”
