Vanity Fair Interview with Swalwell Buddy Comes Off as Democrat Comedy

There is growing evidence that left leaning Vanity Fair is rebranding itself as a comedy magazine.

Dan Adler seems to have no idea how inadvertently hilarious his interview with billionaire Stephen Cloobeck came across in "Eric Swalwell’s Beverly Hills Benefactor Wonders If He Missed 'a Big Known Secret in DC.'"

"A big known secret in DC" in which we are expected to believe that Swalwell's fellow Democrats, especially his biggest political benefactor, Nancy Pelosi, had absolutely no idea about the the man's depravity. In any event, Adler goes along with that pretense although it is obvious from what Cloobeck told him that any Democrat, especially California Democrats, would have had to be in a state of hibernation not to suspect the sick truth.

Two days before Eric Swalwell ended his campaign for California governor amid a string of sexual assault and misconduct allegations, the now former congressman recorded a video at Stephen Cloobeck’s Beverly Hills mansion—reportedly worth $26 million—where he had stayed numerous times during the race.

Cloobeck is an offbeat, self-described billionaire who made his fortune in timeshare real estate—though some estimates place his net worth in the mere many millions. He had been making his own bid for governor before dropping out in November and throwing $1 million behind Swalwell. In an interview with Vanity Fair on Monday, he insisted that the allegations that ended Swalwell’s campaign came as a surprise.

"Offbeat?" Is that a polite way of saying "kooky"? Cloobeck has his own scandals:

The 64-year-old tycoon is himself no stranger to the rumor mill. Just prior to the implosion of Swalwell’s political career, Cloobeck had experienced his latest tabloid scandal when his 28-year-old fiancée, an Israeli OnlyFans model and former Penthouse Pet named Adva Lavie, was arraigned on six charges after being accused of committing burglary at the homes of wealthy older men and younger women whom she met through dating apps. (The New York Post later reported that she had previously been married to a porn star known as Big Nick, who was convicted of vehicular manslaughter in 2023 after crashing his Honda into a motorcyclist.) According to prosecutors’ depiction of the honey trap, Lavie, also known as Mia Ventura, posed as a romantic partner or travel companion before stealing cash, gold, and high-end designer goods. She is currently out on bail with an ankle monitor and has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Hey, isn't every California Democrat politician engaged to to an arraigned burglar wearing an ankle monitor that was formerly married to a porn star? Yes, this has all the making of a future comedy movie. And Dan Adler is inadvertently providing the script outline.

...The four women who came forward on Friday alleged a long pattern of misconduct ranging from sexual harassment to rape. Cloobeck says he has his share of questions regarding the due diligence process—before Cloobeck ended his candidacy and rallied behind Swalwell, the now former congressman “was vetted by my team and then allegedly vetted by his team.” More immediately, he questioned what to do about the man in his home whom he had come to think of as a “little brother.”

Swalwell's big brother then goes on to describe his miraculous political transformation:

“I wanted to hear his side because I wanted to make sure his mental health was okay, because I’m a humanitarian,” Cloobeck says. “And I got to the point where I found he lacked integrity.” In Cloobeck’s account, Swalwell began apologizing to him two days after the allegations surfaced. Cloobeck says that once he had a fuller picture of the alleged misconduct, he told Swalwell, “Get the fuck out of here now.” He also decided that he would no longer be a Democrat. “I’m a liberal libertarian Republican,” Cloobeck says.

And remember, all those Democrats knew nothing, NOTHING about the sick escapades of Cloobeck's "little brother" Eric Swalwell who could be watching his past come back to haunt him at his prison theater as a comedy movie developed from the Dan Adler treatment/interview.
