Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry Appear in Dystopian Sci-Fi Ad for Voting Bill

June 20th, 2021 8:32 PM

It is thirty-four years in the future. The year is 2055. A dystopian future worse than that of SkyNet for this is MagaNet where the followers of the Bad Orange Man rule without opposition. Yet there is hope, for an elderly Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry are able to transmit a message to the people of 2021 to warn them of the horror that is to come unless they pass the SR1 voting bill to federalize elections and take it out of state hands as laid out in the Constitution.

This is the premise of an unintentionally hilarious new ad released on Wednesday. Watch, enjoy, laugh!

The HuffPost on Thursday provided some background on the ad that could rank as the most unintentionally funny of the year in "Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom Send Chilling Warning About Democracy From The Future."

Katy Perry and her fiancé, Orlando Bloom, teamed up to send a warning about American democracy.

“You are our only hope,” Bloom says in a one-minute video from the nonpartisan anti-corruption group RepresentUs, in which he pretends to be sending a message from the year 2055.

“The America you know doesn’t exist in our future. Democracy is dead. We have no voice. The regime watches our every move,” he cautions.

Perry urges viewers to call their lawmakers and support the For The People Act, legislation that seeks to expand voter registration and access. The House passed the bill in March, but it has since stalled in the Senate.

Meanwhile, Republican state legislatures around the U.S. are passing sweeping voter restriction laws.

“It started when voter suppression ran wild all over America,” Perry says in the video. “The voting rights bills died in the Senate. Polling places closed. We lost our right to vote.”

So how can we know if Orlando and Katy weren't really sending us a message from the future? Well, one sure fire way is that Orlando and Katy of 2055 would surely know that a day or two after their ad appeared in 2021 that the Democrat narrative on the voting bill changed drastically.

Instead of hyping the original HR1 (SR1 in the Senate) the Democrats and their media allies began pushing Senator Joe Manchin's voting bill since they see it as a vehicle to get him to possibly oppose the filibuster when his bill fails due to the fact that even though it requires some ID verification it still unconstitutionally federalizes state elections. The flip from the SR1 that future Orlando and Katy are flacking for to the new Manchin proposal has been so complete that even those who were vehemently opposed to voter ID are now embracing it.

Perhaps the 2055 Orlando and Katy can warn via a time traveling message transmission sent to the 2021 (before last week) Orlando and Katy to NOT do that voting bill commercial or wind up looking like fools.
