You would think university professors would have some respect for books regardless of their content.
Apparently that's not the case for two San Jose State University professors who actually published a picture at their department's website of the two of them burning a book skeptical of anthropogenic global warming.
The Heartland Institute's Jim Lakely reported Friday that his organization had recently distributed 100,000 copies of Steve Goreham’s book "The Mad, Mad, Mad World of Climatism."
Our friend Anthony Watts discovered that two recipients - Craig Clements, associate professor at the Department of Meteorology and Climate Science at San Jose State University, and Alison Bridger, the chair of the department - actually published at the department's website a picture of them burning one of the books:
The caption actually read: "This week we received a deluge of free books from the Heartland Institute {this or this }. The book is entitled 'The Mad, Mad, Made World of Climatism'. Shown above, Drs. Bridger and Clements test the flammability of the book."
The post and picture were removed Thursday as word spread on the internet about their foolishness, but Watts has a screencap of the website for posterity.
That's quite an example these two educators are setting, wouldn't you say?
