Actor Jim Carrey attracted a lot of attention last month when he said, “[Anyone] who would run out to buy an assault rifle after the Newtown massacre has very little left in their body or soul worth protecting."
He was back at it Sunday when he promoted a new satirical song to appear at the website Funny or Die with a tweet that read, "'Cold Dead Hand' is abt u heartless motherf%ckers unwilling 2 bend 4 the safety of our kids.Sorry if you're offended":

Carrey followed this up with subsequent tweets:
- Gun folks are afraid that control won't stop with large magazines. Their nervousness is far less important than the safety of children.
- I'd like to respond to all the conservative bundits out there personally but I'm far too busy NOT stumping for the gun companies!
Carrey first mentioned the song Friday tweeting, "Some ppl hate when i talk about guns so I decided to sing about it! Check out COLD DEAD HAND 12:01 AM Monday on Funny Or Die and itunes!"
For those unfamiliar, Funny or Die is the comedy website owned by actor Will Ferrell.
As such, Carrey's attack - which was quickly reported by Twitchy and prominently linked at the Drudge Report - has guaranteed a lot of attention to his song.
As previously mentioned, this isn't Carrey's first foray into going after gun owners.
Besides what he wrote last month, WebProNews observed that Carrey was very active publishing similar comments on Twitter following December's massacre in Newtown, Connecticut. Ditto in July 2012 after the movie theater shootings in Aurora, Colorado.
I guess he believes that only his movie characters and his bodyguards should be allowed to bear arms.
