Kathleen Parker: Hillary Won't Run For President As 'Ultimate Revenge' On Bill

January 27th, 2013 2:31 PM

Washington Post columnist Kathleen Parker made a couple of predictions on Sunday's syndicated Chris Matthews Show that are guaranteed to raise eyebrows on both sides of the aisle.

First, in a discussion about whether Hillary Clinton will run for president in 2016, Parker said she wouldn't as "ultimate revenge" on husband Bill who "wants her to run more than anyone else" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

KATHLEEN PARKER, WASHINGTON POST: I would not be surprised if Hillary does not run. As we’ve all noted, she’s going to be 69 years old.

CHRIS MATTHEWS, HOST: Let's start with that. She’s 69. He’ll be, Joe Biden will be 74…

PARKER: Yes.

MATTHEWS: ...on Inauguration Day.

PARKER: I think women have a better sense of priorities in life than men do, and I think she may just want to enjoy her life. And there's also this: Who wants her to run more than anyone else?

MATTHEWS: Big Bill.

PARKER: Big Bill. And maybe that's her ultimate revenge.

MATTHEWS: [Laughs] Boy, you are unbelievable.

Wow! A bit later during the predictions segment, Parker said:

PARKER: Okay, I’m going to go out on a limb here and predict that nothing much is going to happen with immigration in the next two years because it suits the Democrats to have that out there for the 2014.

MATTHEWS: Are you prodding here or are you planning? Are you prodding them? I think you’re prodding them, but you may be right. I think it is a Democratic issue that helps them, but I think it’s wrong for the country to have that issue unresolved.

Well, from what we've seen of today's Democrats - and the media that support them - what's in the interest of their Party ALWAYS comes before what's in the interest of the citizens they serve.

As such, this wouldn't surprise me one bit.
