Meet the Press host David Gregory said Wednesday, "A lot of corporate America is waiting for Romney to get elected rather than another term of Obama."
Speaking with Jimmy Fallon on NBC's Late Night, Gregory added, "That may unleash a little bit more progress" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
JIMMY FALLON, HOST: And he's a good businessman, right, Mitt Romney?
DAVID GREGORY: Well, there's no question. And people certainly give him high marks on having good ideas about the economy. And a lot of business leaders I talked to say that, as good as the economy may be, we know it's not good, we know unemployment is high, but that the underpinnings of the economy are strong. That, you know, in many ways, a lot of corporate America is waiting for Romney to get elected rather than another term of Obama. That that may unleash a little bit more progress. That's the view of some.
FALLON: Interesting. That's very good.
It's interesting to see Gregory make such a bullish comment about Romney late at night - or early in the morning, really - when few people are watching.
Wouldn't you love to see heads explode if he actually said this on his own program or the highly-watched Today show which he frequently appears on?
