With Congress's poll numbers so low, the goal of the liberal media is to make the public believe the Republicans are in charge of both chambers.
Bill Press appearing on MSNBC's PoliticsNation Wednesday dishonestly demonstrated precisely how (video follows with transcript and commentary):
BILL PRESS: And on that poll you talked about, Congress, controlled by John Boehner and Mitch McConnell, nine percent approval.
Actually, Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is the Senate minority leader. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) runs the Senate and has so since January 2007.
But this kind of misrepresentation is exactly what we should expect in the next twelve months as folks like Press try to blame all the problems in the country on Republicans despite them controlling only one chamber of Congress.
This might even come right from the White House. As the Hill reported Thursday (emphasis added):
President Obama and Democrats on Capitol Hill are increasingly referring to the Congress as “Republican” even though their party controls one-half of the unpopular institution.
Obama and his allies have started to deploy the phrase “Republican Congress” in what some experts see as a clear attempt to gain a political advantage.
Something else to consider: this was not an innocent mistake on Press's part. He knows Reid is the Majority Leader. He therefore was deliberately trying to mislead the public.
And this is what the heads of NBC and MSNBC tolerate on their so-called news network.
Pretty frightening when you think about it.
